Survivor: Cook Islands finale and Battlestar Galactica

After everything that happened server-wise this week, I just didn’t have it in me to write up anything on the BSG mid-season finale.  But we can still talk about it.  Lay it on me...what did we learn and where are we going?  What does the temple do?  You think maybe there is no artifact per se, but rather the temple shoots a directional beam pointing the way to Earth?

As for Survivor, I still watched it to the end...did the right person win?  I thought the other one should have, and the one in the middle was never a factor.

Comments will contain spoilers!  You were warned.

Could we talk about Dexter instead?

Wow. What a season-ender. His sister’s comeuppance just wasn’t as satisfying as I hoped… stupid guilt. But still, whoa. I am extremely hungry for the second season.

Three things:

1.  The cylons are idiots.  To be the hight of evolution and intelligence, they are totally blind to the obvious.  Adama bluff? Um, have you not not Admiral Craggy?  Where in any of the dealings he’s had with them has ever bluffed?  Adama is practical to the point of being merciless, and he is will to do what is necessary without even blinking or losing a night’s sleep.  Of course he would nuke the planet with his son on it if it meant keeping the Cylon’s from getting to Earth.

2.  We are just beginning to see the ramifications of the sham death of Athena’s baby.  Will she go over to the other side? Or will she see the practicality of doing it? And I think that this might cause a major schism between Adama and the Prez. I hope not, they need each other.

3.  Lee and Starbuck...sheesh.  He can cheat on his wife, but Starbuck divorcing her husband is wrong? Huh?  These two make my head hurt.

Thats all for now.  End Transmission.

Dexter was *awesome* and I am so looking forward to more of that.  Honestly, so few flaws, it was a solidly excellent show from start to finish.

How poetic, that Dex does it at the end in Ice Truck style…

I called brother in Ep 2, BTW.  I rule.  ;)

I think it will for a little while until Adama realizes that he might have made the exact same call in her shoes.  He’s feeling beterayed right now, but that practicality will kick in.

How bad did we feel for Caprica Six when Gaius and Suicid’Eanna went off together?  Poor thing.  I’ll console her.  ;)

Adama’s nuking the planet?!  Damn spoilers!

I’m still of a mindset this is like the Matrix trilogy, where it’s all happened before in one big historical cycle.

I have a feeling someone’s going to buy it next episode.  My money is on Anders.

Here’s a hint for you-- anyone with a God-name cannot die.  So scratch Athena, Apollo, and Hera.  (And someone else, but it’s not as obvious).

Is she a Valkyrie?  :)

I’d have voted for Yul. He played an awesome game. It’s more about manipulation than challenges to me. :)

Back on the Dexter front, I didn’t get to SEE episode 2. I was late to the party, I started watching the show about the time Dexter offed that couple who were playing coyote then killing off the immigrants whose families couldn’t pay a bit extra.

Was it just me, or did that house look waaaay too nice to be the residence of a drug user/pusher? (I mean, that was back in the sixties or seventies, it looked like… I didn’t think the days of actually getting rich off of that rolled around until later.) Maybe it was just Dexter’s childhood memories applying rose-colored glasses to the place or something.
