Why photographing the war dead is not a good idea

It’s fairly simple in my mind.  They should not be used as political fodder.  This is how war dead should be treated.

The story is long, but if you have a position on the Iraqi war, you owe it to yourself to read it all.  Given Koppel’s crap on ABC...it’s especially timely.  Read it.

I don’t mind if they show images of the remains of the soldiers being brought home, as long as they stop the embargo on the images of the planes hitting the Towers, the people leaping in desperation, the Towers crashing to the ground, and Ground Zero as the smoke cleared. That would put the images of the caskets in perspective, because that’s why those soldiers were in harm’s way.
