Prediction

I think I’m going to buck the trend.

I predict that within 24 to 26 hours of this post, the election will be a done deal.  I believe Bush will win, and by enough of a margin that a recount won’t matter.  I’m not saying runaway victory...just enough that recounting the votes won’t make a damn bit of difference.  I think all the lawyers and watchers will cancel each other out, there will be some, but not an abundance of fraud issues by both sides in Florida and Ohio, but in the end, Kerry will see the returns and concede before 4 AM Eastern.

I agree also.

It isn’t just going to be the “most contested” election in history (if it even is that), it’s also going to be the most CLOSELY MONITORED election in history. Do we really think it’s gonna come off all willy-nilly and need to be hesitated over?

Everywhere it’s been “close,” watch for Kerry to slip under the waves.

I disagree...completely. I understand one thing clearly. Democrats think Bush stole the 2000 election, irregardless of the electoral vote (which they now want to repeal, btw), and in my mind this means that they will challenge, challenge and challenge again every facet of this election if it is within 1-2%. Kerry will not concede this race, simply because the democrat mindset is to not provide the repubs an aura of being the winner, as Al Gore did in 2000. Articles I’ve read talk about the DNC realizing that by Al Gore conceding first, and then not conceding, they gave the repubs the air of legitimacy and this in turn caused them (the DNC) to look more like whiners than actual legitimate plantiffs in the case. On that basis, I see Kerry refusing to concede unless it is a very clear win for Bush, which I doubt it will be. Like I said, if it is within 1-2% points, expect many, many, unrelenting challenges by McAulliffffffff. I see us knowing who our next president it right around Thanksgiving. Trust me, I pray I am wrong and have to eat these words. Although I have my salt and pepper at the ready, I doubt I will need it.

Jim,

I agree with you. I have a feeling Bush will get just enough votes to neutralize any challenge.  The problem I see is that to the democrats this will not matter a bit because they are determined to take power or prevent republicans from having it.

I hate to say this but I think we all should be prepared for massive civil disobedience and rioting.  Democrats know what is at stake right now. They know a Bush win will mean a solidification of our efforts on the war on terror - Bush will have no politics to worry about and will actually be able to order our troops get down to the dirty work of killing terrorists - he will solidify support for more conservative issues and deal reign in the deficit spending, and that up to 4 supreme court justices will be picked by Bush.  This will sink the democrats for decades and they can not abide by that.

So they will prefer subvert the election results and undermine our nation - don’t forget half of them feel America is the evil one and deserves to be attacked and humiliated - at every opportunity.  This election will not silence the evil gone mad on the left.

Agreed also.  Because of the rules put down by the individual states, it is going to be very hard to prove voter “disenfranchisement” (oh I HATE that word).  It is interesting to note that Republicans are being denied access to polls on the reservations in S. Dakota.  Daschle in trouble?  Hmmm?

One more comment, Michael Moore’s cameras can be silenced if just one person says they are being intimadated by the cameras being at polling places.  It would be good-bye camera!!!

I also agree.

I just hope that the dems who are threatening to leave the country if Bush is re-elected will follow through and leave.  This election is overhyped.  I can’t wait for it to be over.

I tentatively agree.  All these slanted polls have my a little worried, but they are slanted by and large as far as I can tell (the truth is in the polling practices which you have to dig for).

Wow! Your prediction turned out to by WAY more accurate than mine! You’re kinda spooking me out! Dude, you were almost dead-on! How’d you do it?
