Lost is losing me

I agree with every word this guy wrote.

“Lost" has always been something of a con job, a three-card monte game where they let you glimpse the red queen—in this case, the island’s secrets—just often enough to keep playing. We complained that they didn’t show us what was in the hatch at the end of season one, so they took us inside in the opening minutes of season two, then spent the rest of the year drawing out the question of what the button really did.

But what at first felt like an ingenious long con—one that has spawned tie-in books and Web sites designed to give opaque clues to these unsolveable mysteries—has slowly revealed itself to be a series of short cons, and those become much easier to spot for all but the most gullible of marks.

If it wasn’t clear before that the writers were making up most of the series as they went along, last week’s death of Mr. Eko should have made that quite clear. So, let’s see: Season two was devoted to the mysteries of the hatch and the arrival of the passengers from the tail section, only now the hatch has blown up real good and the only tailie still breathing is the rarely-seen Bernard. And we watched last season why, exactly?

Read the rest...he’s spot on.  The reason Lost is still watchable is the strength of the actors on the show.

Hat tip: Treacher.

As much as I hate to admit it, I’m starting to become less thrilled with each episode. If Jack kisses that Others chick then I’m just gonna give up. I hope they don’t spend all season trying to escape the prison so that season 4 is all about getting from the Others’ island back to their island and then season 5 is the coming war with the Others and season 6 is the start of that war.
Sorry for my rant, it’s just...you know...it’s not as suspenseful as it used to be.
Plus, those who get busted for drinking and driving don’t have much time left on the island
