Catching up on the week

Ready?  Steady?  Go!

Seung-Hui Cho, the Virgina Tech murderer: This is despicable and misguided, this is exactly what I want to hear from a conservative candidate, and yeah, I suppose it would be just horrible to have this guy in your family.

NASA shooter: Sad, but also a little pathetic.  Too bad he just didn’t walk in and make a big scene while only shooting himself.

Wolfowitz and the “scandal” surrounding his girlfriend: Much ado about nothing.  Wolfowitz has a past three miles long, among which there must be hundreds of things over which to attack him.  Trying to drum up a fake scandal is just...well, to use the word again, pathetic.

Speaking truth to “power”: Ed Koch called Al Sharpton out right to his face, and Sharpton said nothing, like the racist lying coward that he is.

Alec Baldwin screaming at his child via voicemail: Lame.  Bad parenting.  Not really surprising given Baldwin’s massive ego.  Was he pushed to it?  All I know is, his first statement after the “story” broke called his daughter “the child” but referrerd to “Alec,” “him” and “his.” I found that telling.  You know he dictated that to his publicist, his ego wouldn’t allow him to allow someone to re-phrase his brilliance.

TV: 24 is boring, The Shield is awesome, Heroes is coming back and Drive is gonna get canceled even though it’s cool.

Beautiful women (some NSFW): This is Diora Baird topless in FHM (the UK version, obviously the U.S. can’t handle this simply kind of nudity without getting weird), this seems to mean that Manson did in fact trade Dita for Evan Rachel Wood (he traded down, in my opinion), and finally one of my new faves, Aussie superbabe Emily Scott in Zoo Weekly.  They’re from January, but who cares?

Gaming: I made the move to a console.  My gamercard.  Would you like to be my friend?  We could toast marshmallows together.  Also, Need For Speed Carbon on the Xbox 360...nice.  I’m looking forward to trying Command & Conquer 3 on a console.

There.  That about does it.

I fucking KNOW better.

At least some commenters had it right.

Some.

I just may have to possibly add you next time I boot up the Ol’ 360.

“Cashin”

No shit. Sent you a friend request on Live. What games did you buy?

artmonkey#4  Posted by artmonkey United States on 04/22 at 02:03 PM -

Point by point;

1> As disgusting as defending this P.O.S. may be, is anyone really shocked? This is DailyKOS we’re talking about, here. They exist only to make the wrong call on every single issue.

2> Errr… hell yes? It will be a proud day when a prominent politco on the right picks up on this no-nonsense line of reason and makes it known, publicly. Unfortunately, it’s more likely they’ll drop the ball and “soften” it up by adding a touch of Kos-esque sentiment… you know, for balance. <gag>

3> I’m with Lee, here. What a terrible spot to be put in. Greif, humiliation, horror… and you just know someone is eventually going to bring up the questioning of their parenting skills. Sad, sad, sad.

4> Honestly didn’t follow this story closely. Have to wonder if the shooter wasn’t consciously picking this timing, knowing the press would be all over it in the wake of the VT massacre.

5> Agreed. Why do they keep trying to “invent” stories? Are they (media) just getting so damned lazy and incompetent that they can no longer find actual dirt? Or perhaps they know more than we do, and know that if one of the other stories makes press, some pals on the left may get implicated and burned, too?

6> Heh... Go, Ed. Growing up just ‘cross the river during Ed’s reign, I remember this guy as incredibly likeable, honest and no-nonsense.
Glad to see he’s still got it in him.

7> Baldwin is a piece of $#!t, period. Always has been, always will be. His ego is the stuff of legend. As a father, I am both infuriated and emotionally injured at hearing that recording.
Note that he addresses her almost as he would a peer. This is notable, as I think it speaks to his mental state. He truly does have a mind emotionally stunted to pre-teen levels. This explains so much, including his political bent and advocacy on many issues. I don’t think he’s alone, either. I think most of his Hollywood-activist comrades are similarly stunted.
The man needs serious help. As a parent, I truly believe he is unsalvageable.  His daughter should thank God above that he does not have full custody.

8> Who’s Dora Baird? ..erm.. who cares? She’s hot, and topless. These are to qualities I appreciate in a woman.

9> Didn’t you work for Manson for a while, Jim?
Maybe you can talk some sense into him. While he’s recently got himself a corvette, he obviously traded a McLaren to get it.

10> Holy Hell. I had no idea who Emily Scott was before seeing this… so thank you for bringing some sunshine (and a little unmentionable tightness of the pants) into my day.
Good god, she’s hot. Like, nuclear (nucular if you’re from Texas) hot. When I saw her pic with the embedded quote “I’ve had threesomes… I’ll probably have one again.”, I just about ruined a new pair of boxer-briefs.

11> Haven’t had a console since my PS2 died 2 years ago. Still playing the 9-year-old Tribes on my PC. So this doesn’t mean much to me, sorry.

Hahaha. Tribes… fucking awesome.

Jim is your desire to play C&C;because its a great game, or because your favorite cylons, Caprica and Athena are in the cut scenes?

Cause for me thats like say “Would you like cake with your bj?”

I did download the demo for 360, and really liked it. Great graphics, and the interphace isn’t as clunky as some ports of a RTS on a console usually is.

As far as Alec Baldwin goes, even though I personally dislike the guy, and I detest his politics, his tirade seems like something just about any divorced parent might say to a child that is in the custody of the other parent, in a different city, who has had the other parent badmouthing them so much that they have broken several court set appointments for the only contact available to the non-custodial parent - a phone call.  Did he lose his temper?  Yes.  Was he right for doing so?  No.  Do any of us really know the whole story?  No.  How did this tape get released to the public?  I don’t know for sure, but I strongly suspect it has something to do with another party wanting Alec Baldwin to look absolutely awful before going into a divorce court proceeding.  Like I said, I don’t like the guy (and I hate his politics), but this “outing” of one message which shows him losing his temper doesn’t seem right either.

Oh, another thing that happened this past week:

Sheryl Crow wants to limit our use of toilet paper - you know, to stop global warming.  We want a cooler (and smellier and dirtier and more disgusting) planet for everyone.  Of course, I am sure that she would be in favor of toilet paper credits (like carbon credits, only for toilet paper) to be purchased from a company she started, so that the Limousine Liberals could use all they wanted without feeling guilty (or dirty, you know, down there), as long as they ponied up some cash to her company (or Al Gore’s, she is probably not smart enough to start that company herself, after all).  Yes, the wealthy can use all they like, guilt free, but the rest of society, well, they need to suffer.

I call bullshit, here.  I dont’ care how bad the divorce is going, or how stressful it is, or even how upset you are that your daughter missed an effing phone call… you simply do not</i> speak to a child like that, <b>ever.

I swear, if I ever heard someone in public calling thier child a “thoughtless little pig”, I’d calmly ask him to step out of earshot of the child while I let him know what a complete piece of garbage he was… and that’s me on a good day.

Should this have been released? Probably not.
Is it all part of an underhanded custody-battle trick? Very likely.

Does that have anything to do with what a disgusting p.o.s. Alec Baldwin is? Absolutely not.

Hahaha. Tribes… fucking awesome.

No joke, Ryley.

I totally rock Tribes.

Un-freakin-beatable, man. I swear.

Heh…

yeah… err… I’m a geek.

It’s really awesome how many people still play it. Me and my friends still do time to time.

I think they should make a new version of it. By that I mean, the same game mechanics. All the sequels have sucked donkey dick. Well, Vengeance wasn’t bad, I really liked how they further implemented skiing. But at anyrate, they should remake the original. Sexy new graphics and everything, but the exact same mechanics.

Dunno what that would mean for modding though. Tribes was probably the most easily modded game ever. And a lot of the mods were very very fun. Well, except annihilation… annihilation is just retarded… *automatic thermonuclear railgun, FTW*

Also, this isn’t Fred is it? Cause I know a Fred who is nasty at tribes, and could easily have a screename like artmonkey…

Ireland Baldwin’s response:

This is pretty clever. I can think of a few people I’d set this up for
The Voicemail Solution for Alec Baldwin’s Daughter

Also, this isn’t Fred is it?

Nope, sorry.

You’ll really only catch me on one, specific server.
That’s (0w0)SAMURAI+MDXNIP(0w0).  It’s the only one I’ve found that rund the Mentdown X mod.

I have the mod, and have tried hosting myself, but I just can’t seem to be able to show up on the server list, for some reason.

Ah well.

If you go there, beware of anyone from [HoH]. My boys are all badass.
