Sci Friday, baby

Nice...Battlestar Galactica season 2, Stargate SG1 season 9 and Stargate Atlantis season 2 all premiere tonight on SciFi.  I have every faith that all three will be great this year, with Battlestar Galactica probably taking top scifi show of the year honors again.

Yeah, I am a big dorky nerd, wanna make somethin’ of it?

Battlestar Continued

Nice.

SCI FI Channel has ordered a second season of its hit series Battlestar Galactica, which has aired five episodes of its first season of 13 episodes. Details of the renewal—including which cast members will return, how many episodes will be produced and when the second season will commence—were still being worked out at press time.

Battlestar Galactica has been a ratings winner for SCI FI since its Jan. 14 premiere. The latest episode, Feb. 4’s “You Can’t Go Home Again,” scored the show’s best ratings yet, with 3.2 million viewers.

For the show’s second season, creator and executive producer Ronald D. Moore previously told SCI FI Wire that he has already been working on as many as six new scripts to resolve the multiple cliffhangers that will end season one. Moore added that he wants to delve deeper into the show’s religious themes and open up the Cylon world a bit more in the coming season.

Attention SciFi Network: If you Farscape me on this show, I will hunt you down and kill you all.  Slowly.  If you end any season on a cliffhanger and make me wait two years for a miniseries to tie everything up, you’re dead.  You hear me?  Dead.

That having been said...thanks!  :)

BG: new episode

The latest episode of Battlestar Galactica (1x13) just hit the BitTorrent sites.  Remember, if you download it, make sure you give the US version some love to keep the ratings up!

New Galactica

For those of us finishing up the UK season of BG, the new episode is out in Bitorrent.  This torrent JUST came out and is running a little slow, but I expect it will pick up in the next few hours.

Remember, watch or TiVo it on SciFi to support the show!

Excellent, but no Maren Jensen in a skintight leotard…

Seems like everyone who has a blog has commented on the new Battlestar Galactica.  Here’s my first comment:

SUCKERS!  You wait for them to air on Sci-Fi.  I watch them now.  ALL NOW!  ::maniacal cackle here::

In other news, how hard is it to get used to Boomer being a Chinese girl?  The show is good, though.  Far more “Oh my god this is frigging hopeless but we have to try anyway” than the original show.  The original always struck me as too cute, too “Buck Rogers.” I prefer the original Cylon robots though, the black & silver chrome was fierce.  However, the whole “Who’s a bad guy and who isn’t?” factor more than makes up for it.

If anyone who has also downloaded the shows leaves comments, please try not to spoil.  Just because we’re better than those poor suckers who have to wait for next week doesn’t mean we should rub it in their faces.  :)

*UPDATE*

I feel like I should highlight this comment from misterd:

Oh, and for those of you watching on the internet, please consider rewatching them on SciFi. Ratings help keep shows afloat, not bootleg internet downloads.

This is good advice, something we downloaders should remember.  Falling in love with a show means you have to try to support it, even if you get it off the int3rw3b.  Otherwise they will stop making good shows.

Don’t forget, if you have a TiVo, TiVo ‘em.  That gets counted and reported to advertisers.
