You’d think this would be a clue

Hear that?  It’s the CluePhone, and it’s ringing for you, Bush.

President Bush’s approval rating slipped to a new low in the latest national survey with pollsters suggesting federal government intervention in the Terri Schiavo controversy may have been a factor along with growing concern about the economy.

Dear President Bush,

Please stay the fuck out of things that don’t concern you.  If you could make a little effort to act even a tiny bit Republican, much less conservative, we’d all appreciate it.  When your approval rating drops this low, you are losing the people that voted you in to office.  Granted, you never have to get votes again, but you are damaging the entire right side of the spectrum by acting like a nosy busybody asshole with no regard for anyone or anything that comes close to actual freedom.  Please stop.

Thank You,

People with common sense.

Could you point to the story that makes it clear that Bush was the one behind this? I recall the House was ramping this up, but not Bush.

Steve, he certainly made it quite clear that he would sign anything that they wanted to rush to him. He could have said that he grieved for the parents, but that it wasn’t his place to get involved with an ongoing case. (Which, it’s true, y’know. It isn’t his place.)

He could have made a phone call and it would have been shut down by House Leadership.
