What did I do?
Tell me. Who did I piss off? This hasn’t been my favorite week, many, many little nagging troubles and annoyances, but now...I was biting into a sausage and a corner of my lower right-side front tooth just disintegrated. I now have a 2-3 cm. hole/jagged corner. No pain, but it’s scraping against my lip and tongue. It’s quite sharp.
The problem here is my insurance doesn’t include dental. This is going to cost a fucking fortune that I simply do not have. I have been trying to finagle buying a new camera bag to hold my gear...the one I have is about half what I need. I’m REALLY enjoying this learning about my camera process, and there are a lot of things I want to get...another lens, a macro “studio” (lighting and a chamber in which to shoot small things, a tabletop tripod…
Now every fuck dime I have is going to have to go to a dentist...I know I have multiple cavities, I chipped a tooth in the early 90s and never had it taken care of...truth is I haven’t been to a dentist since 1987.
I’m simply pissed.
Oh, and they raised the monthly rate for our insurance, and our home was re-assessed at almost double the last assessment. So that bill will be coming due in the form of higher taxes.

I would let this one go, but it’s in THE worst annoying place possible. It’s like all my teeth got together and had a vote, and they came up with this as the worst possible place to have a sharp hole.
They were right. Whoever did the research for my teeth’s board meeting...spot-on.

yeah it’s been a rough time recently for me too, justafter thanksgiving my grandmother died and since she lived with me a lot of the household money is gone, plus all the cost that goes along with dealing with her death, and of course that’s the time i get the taxes in for the land, they were almost double last years, the school tax was raised by the democrats here, a million little things seem to pop up like the car insurance just came in, the government took all the money out of the bank account i shared with my grandmother, not just her last check shorting me a little till i get things sorted out, the doctors bills she left were mostly taken care of by medicare who paid them $19,000 or so for the 8 days she was there but the doctors say not every thing was covered..well screw them, they can go dig her up if they want their money, same as the collection agency can do with her other debts.
but my dogs did check out well at the vet and my cats are now eating rats and mice by the truck load keeping my van from being chewed apart for a 4th time by them..cats, i never knew i was a cat person but they are rather loving for trained killers :)

How much is it actually going to cost to cap a tooth? An hour appointment costs about £60 here ($110ish) [that’s if you can’t find a free dentist of course although there are less and less of those].

My mother-in-law says they can do something that isn’t a full crown, it should cost $500 or less. I have other work that needs doin’ though...this is gonna suck. :)
Wally: Hang in there. I hear tell 2006 isn’t going to suck as much as 2005. Of course a homeless guy half-crazy from the syphilis told me that, so…

homeless guy half-crazy told ya? eh i never believe Tom Daschle..
..but well 2006 is looking up aready, the local piggly wiggly had a “truck load of meat sale”, i got 100 pounds of assorted meat for half the regular price and stocked the freezer...life can’t be all bad when you have 25 pounds of catfish ready to fry up.
so may life shine your way too and and a truck load of frozen assorted meats find their way to your kitchen.

Though, this sounds like it requires dental surgery.. that is covered by the single payer system. Just pop over to Emergency and you’ll get taken care of in a couple hours.

You have a point there. It’s crazy expensive to do anything medical...part of the reason is the high, high cost of doing business as a doctor in this country. Insurance is high as giraffe pussy. Education costs are out of control. Plus it’s extremely expensive to run a business with proper employees.
My opinion is that it’s all sourced from the rampant lawsuit-happy culture in America. Everyone sues for every damn thing.
Anyway...rant ended. You’re right, it is absurd...nothing else to say about that.

Yeah the whole part of a tooth crumbling thing happened to me a few years back.
Now stuff tends to get stuck in it which is a real bitch.
