South Park Conservatives: The Revolt Against Liberal Media Bias

Looking forward to reading it.  I’m going to try to finish it up fast and get a discussion started.  Obviously, I have an interest in the subject matter, all things considered.  :)

Neat. I may check it out. But I’ve said that about a lot of books of this nature.

The talk about bias in the media is getting old. So what that CNN, NBC, New York Times, Washington Post, and The Nation are liberal in their leanings! Everyone who is familiar with the invention of the television and radio and has even a miniscule amount of political “know” realize that these dinosaurs are liberal. Just like the people that tune into FOX, Rush, Hannity, and Michael Medved are going to get a Republican bias. You will never hear Dan Blather endorse a man like Bush just like you will never see a Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, or Rupert Murdoch endorse a John Kerry.

So what is the deal? “Conservatives” have a virtual monopoly on talk radio(thank God, I have XM and have heard liberal talk shows… enough said),some of the nations most subscribed to Commentary magazines (Weekly Standard and National Review), blogs, and the most popular news channel hands down! In the Newspaper realm they are not completely out of the running with Washington Times, New York Post, and Wall Street Journal. To claim that there is some one-sided media bias out there is rediculous and a waste of time.
My advice, be glad that we are on the winning side of the battle (although as a staunch Paleoconservative I am not sure that Republicans are much of a winning band of brothers).

oh god, excuse me while I retch

Sorry this is a bit off topic but.. I was reading this very tech heavy thing for my computer architecture course when the author showed his bared his lefty ass cheeks for all to see:

the source

The offensive portion is about 70% down; the fifth paragraph under “Earth Simulator” which was at the time of that writing the most powerful super computer on earth.

This supercomputer was built for two main purposes. Firstly it was developed to study atmospheric and oceanographic sciences and secondly to study solid earth. This will help predict changes in and on earth using satellite technology. “The Earth Simulator is capable of creating a virtual Earth, using information sent from satellites and other observation points, so that scientists will be able to predict changes” (Green, S. 2002 ). Since the ES can be described as “Virtual Earth”, there is a possibility that scientists will be able to predict the future and simulate years down the road to see what humans are doing to the earth. This way, we may be able to save the Earth from human’s destruction.

I’m writing a summary of the paper… I’m really tempted to rail on this lunatic, but I’m not sure what my prof’s persuasion is.  Probably liberal considering he’s a professor and also from some European country (with a thick accent that I can’t place).

Sorry, had to vent.
