The popular vote
Bush will be the first President since his dad (who won with 59.75%) to be elected with more than a 50% majority.
Clinton, 1992: 43%
Clinton 1996: 49%
Bush 2000: 48 %
Some say a “mandate” is 50% plus one. I don’t know if this is a mandate, but it is a vital piece of information to keep in mind. Bush won over 50% of the popular vote. Even the left’s beloved Clinton could never make that happen. Bush won more votes than any other candidate ever has...but we have more people and the turnout was high, so I don’t knwo if that stat means much. What I do know is Bush got 51%.

You want a comment? Here’s one: We’ll handle our politics without your input, thank you.
You are insulting, arrogant and very, very incorrect with most of yoru facts. This is the most polite reply I can imagine making to you...what I really want to say may not cross this alleged cultural boundary we have.

Thank you, I appreciate your honesty.
I can see why it is easy to find my post insulting. If I was an American , I would be insulted too! But I don’t care how you feel, because that is exactly the message we get from you. A big country with the power (and their own reason) to walk on everyone else.
There truly is a massive gap between your government and your middleclass. Because Americans are friendly people (sometimes even smart too), but damn, are you guys mislead.
If only you had helped stop the spread of AIDS instead of Terrorism(?) you might have been able to do something good. Get this: In Sept 2001, more people died in my country (because of Aids) than did in you attack. And that doesn’t stop, it gets worse. 12 monts in a year… and my country is less than a third the size of the USA. And South Africa is the most developed country in Africa. What about the rest of this continent?
Yes terrorism is terrible. Yes Osama is an arse. But do you need to attack a country you fear to ultimately hate you even more? Doesn’t that grow violence? Why not just look for Osama instead of attacking Iraq and killing 1000’s of people?
Would you have done things like that? Do you approve of it?

Listen, asshole...my blog is not your personal pulpit. Go spout this crap at DU where it’s welcome. Your talking points are ignorant and I’m sick of hearing them.
IT’S OVER. BUSH WON. LIVE WITH IT.
And for the record, *I* am not insulted...YOU are insulting.

Oh, and another thought: You want to stop AIDS in South Africa? STOP FUCKING. Stop fucking without protection. You could be doing much to bring those numbers down to accidental infection rates...instead you fuck like rabbits without protection. And you rape women like it was a blood sport.
Cry me a river. You get absolutely no sympathy from me until you actively do something to help yourself.

I don’t think they will ever do something to help themselves, Jim-it’s a lot easier to sit back and whine about us not helping them enough.
What a self-absorbed and self-important waste of flesh.

Hallo dude
I love in Stellenbosch. For all you Americans, that is in South Africa. Funny enough how few people know of or about South Africa. Ever heard of Nelson Mandela?
Ok. Let me also get another point straight. No one uotside the USA thinks that Micheal Moore is god and no one strongly believes in Kerry. But Bush has been unfavourable to the WHOLE WORLD outside the USA. I lived in France, Holland, Germany and New York last year. The feeling is obvious and mutual.
I admire Americans for being very patriotic. But America is CERTAINLY the most IGNORANT nation I known.
In NY, you would not believe how many people asked me where the hell South Africa is. Um...yeah. You strongly believe in the media and in your own disease (junk foof, junk FEAR, junk love, junk personalities) which all boils down to making money (no time for anything else).
The sad thing is, you are so into this, you cannot see your way out or in. Please try and see what America is doing. Trying to show the rest of the world how to live? If not, you get scared and eventually the rest of the world is a threat, according to George W Bush. You are so tied up in your own fear that you will bite any hand that comes to help you. Who promotes fear? Bush? Why? How else will he possibly be President again? He only lost more that 1 000 000 jobs in his 4 years. He only knows the strategy of fear.
FEAR is the opposite emotion of LOVE.
Thank you for entertaining us, America.
Thank you for fighting against yourself and then blaming (and bombing) the rest of the world. Thank you for McD’s. Thank you for plastic. Thank you for pollution.
And thank you for narrow-mindedness.
Please post you comments.
