The Katrina blog efforts

There’s an organized effort around the blogosphere set for today to raise awareness of various charities that you can get with to support the relief efforts.  I’ve picked the Humane Society because so often in these disasters, people forget about the pets, companion, work and zoo animals that get left behind.

I don’t mean to put the animals ahead of the people, but so many are focused on helping various segments of the refugee population that I thought maybe I’d focus on the wee furry ones.  Help if you can.

So have you found any links to any religious fucks who think that Katrina was sent by God to punish the sinful city of New Orleans?  And did you see all the destroyed River Boat Casino’s in Gulfport?

Some vile filth will spout this crap soon (probably already has).

Not the “sinful city of New Orleans”, but the gays (who were supposed to have planned some kind of gay rally, although not necessarily in the Gulf Region - just somewhere on the planet is apparently enough.

Of course, the DU is already saying that Bush MIHOP (made it happen on purpose) because of global warming. RFK Jr blames Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour because he once wrote a memo arguing against the Kyoto Treaty.

Did you actually expect anything else?

The rhetoric is going to get worse.  It is all ready being pointed out that the majority of people being hurt are “black”.  I only see human beings trying to survive a devastating situation.  If it is “only” blacks being hurt, then why didn’t the black mayor do more?  Why didn’t the Dems majority do more to get people out?  Yes, the “bloggers” who hate Bush are going to try to have a field day, but I’m sorry Bush did not cause the hurricane by not signing the Kyoto Treaty.  How assinine of another Kennedy to say so.  Absolutely NO scientific evidence of so-called global warming has EVER been associated with the causes of a hurricane.  Stupidity of the left just overwhelms me, but I’m not surprised.

Man, if it wasn’t for the gays there’d never be another hurricane. Man they have power.

I put up a trio of donation pages on the front page of the webcomic I co-write. The Humane Society among them. (Though I typoed the name, and there’s no edit function. Sigh.)
