Stuff

1. Lost 42 pounds so far.
2. Swam well over a mile today.  6000 feet.
3. Cat home from surgery. $1,755 dollars.
4. I make awesome mushroom risotto.

*UPDATE*

5. Anyone else watching Dexter this year?  How hot is Lila?
6. Just started watching Weeds from the beginning.  Seriously.  Love the show.  Making me miss the subject matter a little too.  If I lived in Cali, I could so easily and legitimately qualify for a permit.  And I think I would.  :)

I am! Dexter, that is. Missed it last night, need to catch one of the many reruns this week. And Lila is a little bit too skinny, I think. Girl needs a few hamburgers in her, lose a little of that stick-like nature.

Dexter is nice. Lila is nicer. Beats the hell out of his skank girlfriend-with-baggage.

My theory as of now is that Dexter isn’t really a sociopath (well, that was my theory last year).  Harry created him to act where Harry couldn’t.  Harry didn’t really love him.  Deb only loves his projected brotherly image.  The girlfriend-with-baggage is kind of using him as a surrogate, nice-guy version of Paul, and as a father for the kids.

Lila is the only one that accepts *him*.  She’s the thing he’s been waiting for.  She will fill the void that he thinks is hollowness.

Also, she’ll be totally down with him becoming a true Dark Defender-type and not thinking of himself as a serial killer.

I’ve not read the books (I don’t want to spoil the story!) so if anyone has, please don’t tell me if I’m right!

And my theory is that you’re nuuuuuts. ;p n.n

And I think Lila will turn out to be poison. You just wait and watch. If Lila finds out what he really does, she’s going to wind up being like Dexter’s brother was… she’ll encourage him to throw away the rules, be all the slayer he can be, kill indiscriminately. My further guess is that he’ll find out that she goes to the meetings to find people who are trying to recover from their addiction and instead work to drive them to even greater heights of their addiction, living through their depravity vicariously, until she uses them up and they die, and thus Lila will be the last one on Dexter’s table for the season.

Actually, they’ve suspended the issuance of such permits because the Feds are asserting Federal jurisdiction over such “crimes”, under the abuse of power known as the “Commerce Clause”.

Plus, do you really want a State agency to know what medications you are choosing to intake? That kind of thing should be between you and your doctor.

And your dealer.

Drum: Wow, that SUCKS.

I think I have zero choice but to vote for Fred Thompson - the only candidate to assert a platform of federalism. People can say whatever they want about California, but the medical marijuana decision was not only just and helpful IMHO, it was also their right as a state.

Frigging Feds.  Makes me want to stock up on supplies and buy a cabin in the mountains sometimes.  Well...most of the time.

Now why can’t people see this way about same-sex marriage, too? Or abortion? Or any one of a dozen other grabs for power by the Federal Government in an attempt to usurp State sovereignty?
