Something everyone should read
As I have mentioned many times, Donna is quite the sick little puppy and has been for a long time. People just don’t seem to get how to handle a sick person...even family doesn’t always get it right. Hell I’m still learning and I’ve been living with her and dealing with this stuff for nigh on to ten years now.
It’s encouraging to know that we’re not alone. This comes froma letter that Drumwaster posted at his site, and I think it’s something that everyone should read.
Please understand that if I say I have to sit down/lie down/take these pills now, that I do have to do it right now - it can’t be put off or forgotten just because I’m out for the day (or whatever). Fibromyalgia does not forgive.
I wish people understood this more. Donna, on top of the seizure disorder, has been a CFS sufferer for what is probably her entire life. She’s never had any energy to spare save for these random bursts once in awhile that come and go as fast as you please. They’ve stopped coming at all after the whole seizure thing started.
Just getting her into the car and 5 miles away to her mom’s house is a physical chore and a half for her and I’m half husband/half EMT at this point. Going out into the world is pretty much a non-issue these days. It just ain’t gonna happen.
Some day I’m going to get her to write about this stuff, either in a blog or for posting here. She’s got mad writing skills and I think people could learn a lot from her.
Drum, thanks for sharing this. I would say “you have no idea what it means” but I know you know *exactly* what it means...so thank you.

I understand having to help take care of some one who is sick, my father has a lot of health problems and I have to take care of him, it was hard seeing this ocne strong man slowly get worse, now he depends on me, he can’t around very well at all.
he has to make trips to the Hospital, but we’re lucky, he’s native american so it’s free.
he always talks about how he wishes he could get out there and just work, he worked since he was a kid, and now he feels bad having to sit around so much and feeling worthless, but like i told him, just his being here is enough, he will never be worthless to me.

The one thing you forgot to mention that I think is equally important is just because someone may be having a good day and is out and about does not mean they are not sick. I know you and Donna have dealt with that issue. I saw Donna for what 3 days? And I knew she was sick but others because they see her out one day think she is faking and that’s just retarded. same thing goes to people with handicapped plates. Some people have them who have say MS. The symptoms are not always showing and just because they are having a “good” day does not mean they are cheating the system by having the plates that let them park closer.

*Hugs* to the both of you. (But including you doesn’t make me gay or anything… not that there’s anything wrong with that.) (Okay, how about one of those shoulder squeezes?)
I’m here if you wanna talk.
