Sitemeter and the TTLB Ecosystem

I’ve been getting reports that the site has trouble loading for IE7.  It’s not all the time.  I’ve replicated the problem myself.  I think it;s related to the new Sitemeter addition of a cookie from specificclick.  That’s spam.  I already block specificclick through Firefox via the Adblock plugin.  I’m not about to subject anyone else to it just for stat tracking.  It’s one thing to track stats and report the data to me - I own the site.  It’s quite another to report the data to third parties for God knows what purpose.

Not to mention the fact that specificclick seems - specifically - to be the thing that IE7 hangs on before it says “Cannot load.” Out it goes.  Let me know if it still happens periodically, all you IE7 users.

As for the TTLB Ecosystem, I’m sick of looking at “slithering reptile” or “rodent” or other demeaning rankings when I have ten times more traffic and an equal number of incoming links than some of the “large mammals.” Plus it’s rarely actually working, so...out it goes.

I was thinking the same thing when I read the LGF story, but this clinches it. They’re both gone.

still getting an error. It loads up most of the site, and its like one of the last things that loads that makes it say that it cant get it to open.  But I hit the back button and most times it opens fine then

I’ve been having a problem for about the last week---I have no idea if it’s on your site or with my computer.  BUT this only happens on your site right now....

I took a screenshot but I’m not finding your email address easily.  Perhaps it is the Jack Daniels I’m partaking of.... :)

When the screen first loads I get the message, “Internet Explorer cannot open the internet site http://www.right-thoughts.us/.  Operation aborted.” Then, when I click OK, it loads the standard 404 not found page.  But if I go Back then the page loads normally.

Now this doesn’t happen every time---but probably 8 out of 10 times and, again, only in the last week.

Yup! Same problem I have.

TTLB is another blogger that does nothing useful but is bowed-down upon. Damn, I really hate bloggers sometimes.

I wonder if it’s the Amazon contextual stuff...I removed it, so let’s see if that helps.
