Score one for the good guys
It doesn’t always end badly. Sometimes the bad guy gets what he deserves.
Deputies said Kiefer broke into the home at 1 a.m. this morning and tried to force his 10-year old daughter to drink a caustic liquid. The liquid is being tested to determine what it is, deputies said.
The Howletts came to her aid of their granddaughter but their former son-in-law hit them with a hatchet. Charles Howlett, the owner of a security firm, pulled out a handgun and fired at Kiefer at least twice, but missed. Kiefer then went after Charles Howlett, deputies said. The ex-wife’s boyfriend, Matthew Jason Dyer, 30, of Lake Forest, then came to the aid of the grandfather but Kiefer hit him with the hatchet. The boyfriend grabbed a shotgun and fired once, hitting the Kiefer in the chest, killing him. |
