RIP Morgana

She didn’t make it.  The strain was too much, and she may have gotten a sever infection from too much open bowel.  My poor little baby...the vet said that everyone was doting on her all last night and early this morning.  Reports were that she was even loosening up and being sweet to them - a rare thing for her, she was known at Ridge Hill as a “WILL BITE.” :) Apparently she even purred for the techs and the doc.

I will miss her so much.  She’s been with me every single day since before she was even really mine - I got her and Gwynnie from this couple that lived downstairs back in Albany, NY...I knew her when she was around 3 weeks old.  She picked me long before I even knew I was getting a cat.  I’d go visit Bryce & Carrie and she’d run up to me to be picked up or play.  Once she fell asleep on her back, literally in the palm of my hand.  I sat down on the couch and watched something on TV for the next two hours, holding my hand up so the little kitty wouldn’t wake up.

Over the years she turned into a caregiver - if you were sick, she knew it.  Dizzy?  She’d be right there to purr you back to stability.  Crying?  She’d lick your face clean.  Freshly showered?  Eww, that’s not how you smell.  Gana knows you should smell like family, so she’d lick any bare skin you’d let her until you smelled enough like her to be right.  She especially loved to lick my elbows.  She always knew when Donna was going to have a seizure and would stand guard, until she got too old to fight Preston off anymore and then she let him take the job.

Half of Preston’s personality he learned directly from watching her.  He does all that stuff now.  He drinks water like her, with this weird paw motion that I have only ever seen the two of them do.  They could not be more unrelated.  Hell they never really got along...but he watched her because it was clear that we favored her.  So he did what she did, and now he runs the house like she did.

Morgana...she was a hell of a cat.  Gana, don’t worry about me and Mommy.  Gwynnie is watching me day and night and Preston guards Mommy like his life depends on it.  You rest, baby girl.  You deserve the break.  You earned it.

We’ll miss you.  More than you can imagine.

You have our deepest sympathies, Jim. Her pain is over, and the only thing that makes your pain any easier is that it, too, shall pass.

She’s now in a place with lots of catnip, slow mice and no dogs.

My condolences. Sucks to lose them I know. The only reason I believe in Heaven is because I know that’s where I will see my animals again.

Really sorry to hear about that Jim.  I have the two coolest cats in the world, and cant imagine what I would be like if this happened to either of them.

I’m so sorry.  Some of my best friends have been cats.  It is hard and I wish you well....

I’m so sorry, Jim. :-(

In the last 6 years I’ve had 4 pets die… One took so much out of my soul that I didn’t feel complete until I got just the right cat to replace him.

Three of my cats died of old age--it was their time. One… well, he had a bad heart and died at 14 months.  It was hard. Know that you gave her the best life she could ever have had, and that means everything.

I’m so sorry.
