Pulse-taking
Quick question: Does Obama seem inevitable anymore? Because I am starting to feel like he’s only begun to be tested, and he’s coming up short on all counts. The more he gets questioned, the angrier and more political-suicide-y his responses get. Will Hopeyful Changitude Man continue to be the opposite of the emperor’s new clothes and walk around an empty suit all day?
Are we heading for a Maverick vs. The Wicked Witch of Yale contest come November? Will it really be two of the worst politician in America vying for the top job? Not that Senator Change is a reasonable choice either.
I never thought I’d say this, but I actually miss Al Gore. At least he has some kind of motivating drive, aside from eating his weight in cheeseburgers I mean. He’s the King of the Environment, and at least you know what he’s doing even if you think he’s batshit crazy for it. Changitude and The Wicked Witch of Yale are bending with the wind and setting policy by poll, and Senator Asshole is still all consumed with not letting Iceman beat him in the rankings. No one beats the Maverick!
That was my ridiculously complicated way of saying John McCain is more concerned with maintaining his media-approved-and-created image as a maverick than he is with any kind of political reality or philosophy. I explain this just in case my metaphor, as I suspect it did, fell apart.
I am less enthused about this election cycle than I am about the events that will happen in 16 months. See, in 16 months I will turn 40, and they say you have to start getting prostate exams and whatnot. So I’m going to have to find an ass doctor, which just seems utterly wrong to start with, that you’d trust your health to a guy that chose to specialize in buttholes, and then I get to pay him to jam him fingers up my ass and wriggle them about a bit.
For the record, I’m not a fan. I had a bad experience back there once and now I see my browneye as that old saw of a joke: exit only.
That having been said, I think I would rather have weekly prostate exams - from a prison proctologist with a bad attitude and very large hands - than vote for any of these three front-running buffoons. It’s looking more and more like I will have to be Maverick’s wingman, though. The very idea makes me want to beat puppies with very large steel pipes.
They say you get the government you deserve. I say bullshit. I don’t deserve these idiots and neither do you. Wouldn’t it be awesome if en masse, everyone just didn’t vote for anyone to be president? What if we really did only vote for local, state and Congressional races, and left the row for president blank? Would they get the message, or is this all really going to have to eventually end in a bloody battle for control ala Jericho? How many generations are left in the Great Experiment?
And now you know one of the reasons why I haven’t been blogging much. As far as I am concerned, just repeat this post every flipping day from now until election day. That’s just one more reason why I need to start posting beautiful ladies with red hair and bare bosoms again. Politics is transient. Boobs are forever.
That really sounded deeper in my head. ;)

The president doesn’t matter that much. How many of these issues actually affect you on a daily basis? For me, it’s just taxes and I know how to get around that (legally, thank you, I won’t be joining Blade in the joint). So they can elect the Honorable and Esteemed Senator Dipshit Fuckhead Starfishlicker, and I’ll be just fine.
Socialized medicine? It will just grow the medical market in Mexico, and I’m 15 minutes from the border.
Abortion? They’re mostly going to grow up to be welfare-chisling liberal hippie douchebags anyway.
Illegal Immigration? I’m not competing for those jobs and I like having inexpensive services.
Terrorism? How much have the Republicans actually done? Seems you can still smuggle just about anything short of an ICBM onto a plane these days. Fortunately, we are safe from people smuggling bottles of Evian on board.
Sure I’d rather have all of these issues go the other way, but whatever happens I’m going to be cool with it. There’s not enough differences between these jackasses to bother getting all worked up over which one we throw into some old mansion sitting in the middle of what used to be a malarial swamp before they drained it.

In the whole of the world
There’s a great black pit
And its morals aren’t worth
What a pig could spit
And it goes by the name of D.C.
At the top of the hole
Sit a privileged few
Making mock of the voters
In the lower zoo

As far as I’m concerned, I come to this blog to read your opinion about awesome stuff like Battlestar Galactica, Bioshock and naked red-heads, hilarious stuff like Rock of Love and your political commentary refrains from being shrill even if angry.
I think a lot of people are getting burned out on politics these days, since every little thing seems blown out of proportion, rhetoric is through the roof and politicians like Obama and Ron Paul are idolized instead of grudgingly accepted.
Moorewatch was the first blog I ever read. I think what attracted me to blogs in the first place was the validation of seeing that I wasn’t the only one realizing I was being fed bullshit. Many sites expanded into soapboxes for the author’s political opinions, which I don’t care much about. Your’s expanded in different directions which makes it continuously entertaining.
What I’m saying is, keep it up and let me know when Piper Fawn makes another porno.

This is partly why I’ve avoided posting about the Obama/Hillary feud lately, both at Right Thinking and at my own blog (insert shameless plug here). The thing is, nobody will really much care about Wright or Ayers in the general election if Prince Change is nominated, while the Right’s current love affair with Hillary will end soon enough if she gets it and they’ll go back to muttering under their breath about McCain while publicly supporting him.
I think part of the problem is, we’ve had three two-term prsidents in a row-one great one, one relatively successful one and one who started out well and is ending up in the crapper. I think we’ve run pretty short of successful two-termers and are in for a round of mediocre figureheads while the two parties control the strings.

PS BTW I think Kara Thrace is somewhat unhinged (although she would make a great turn signal: “We’re going the wrong way!!!!")

Barium enema as a kid… nuff said.
Being able to see a live video xray of it moving through was sort cool though. :-/

Boobs are forever
BIG BooBs ( o )( o ) are a better forever!!!
And by the by, the whole Obama vs Wright etc seems to be heating up and on fire and going down in flames and I bet Clinton gets the “more electable” nod from the DNC convention, cue riots and wait until November when the real whining will start.

Seriously man, how fucking bad is it that the big government, free speech infringing, illegal immigrant pandering, cranky old man with anger issues comes across as being the better choice for president?
Politics is transient. Boobs are forever.

Well I’m gonna say that its as deep as the cleavage on some of these chicks is. Which hopefully will be pretty deep.

Hopymessiahchangitude doesn’t seem to be the sure thing anymore, but who knows. The Clinton’s are used to the duck and weave, spin, run, redirect, tell you what the latest poll said to make you happy warfare, now that Hopymessiahchangitude’s message of change and hope, hope and change is being challenged, his actual liberal voting record exposed and his I’ll spend more tax money that Hillary coming out for future policy, he wasn’t prepared to take any jabs. Wright has turned into an albatross around Bammy’s neck and every time Wright opens his mouth more white folks are paying attention.
None of this will matter to 4/5’s of the black population that will vote for him without question. Not voting will allow a dem to win, they won’t stay home, all the care about is the Prez being a Dem, win at all costs even if they destroy the country and usher in the next revolution. McCain can win if he pulls the moderates, maybe, or if enough conservatives can stomach checking his box.
I’m for a None Of The Above option, at least no-one wins and we start the campaigning/nominating over. Of course this may cause mass suicides.
We the people don’t deserve this shit. Either way, I would stock up on ammo and food for the Demo convention, and maybe some popcorn.
