Peanut Butter - the building block of life

If you happen to favor the Creationist point of view...well, better not.  Just know that these are your brothers:

The sheer amount of scientific ignorance in that one short clip makes me want to stick my head in the oven because we’ve had it as a species.  I can’t believe I just saw that.

*UPDATE* How could I have forgotten to top this post off with the undeniable proof that peanut butter and God are as one?

I mean, what the hell do you think they mean when that say “Now there he go, there he go, there he go?” Why, they’re clearly telling you that God is in the P.B..

These guys are morons.  That first guy is one who has been shown on Bullshit!

Haven’t scientists been able to cause simple proteins to be created from basic matter with the believed conditions of how the earth was at that time.  It being a completely random occurance with no way to predict.  But with a few million years even random events can happen a lot.

Been reading this blog for a while but this just made me HAVE to comment. This has got to be the worst creationist argument ever made. While science still has not been able to reproduce the conditions necessary to start life from scratch any school kid can tell you that peanut but doesn’t contain all of the necessary building blocks of life. A better argument would be to ask why all life (apparently) seems to derive from a single point in the past instead of multiple times in history. That would require actual discussion though.

Mmmmmmmmmm Peanut Butter!

Are they just ignoring that the food industry makes food out of once organic matter?

I don’t think the strict creationists really want to try and make that a sticking point, considering that their stance is basically that God snapped his fingers and life suddenly existed in pretty much the exact state it was in today.

… What in the FUCK?!

Dude, that was precisely and exactly my reaction.  I sat staring at my screen literally saying out loud “What in the fuck?  What in the fuck am I seeing?  What in the fuck did he just say?  Why in the fuck is he pretending to open that already opened jar of peanut butter, I can see the foil’s already been pre-peeled.  WHAT IN THE FUCK IS GOING ON HERE?”

So, yeah...pretty much...what in the fuck?!

No one can be that stupid. Early April Fool’s Day joke, right? .....Right?

(Actually, I live with a nutball creationist. She seriously watches shit like this all day long. How I ended up with her is a long story; bad Craigslist result. I’ll have to start up my blog again and throw it on there. It’s fantastic. She has a Pat Robertson ‘How to Invest the Christian Way’ or something DVD. I laugh out loud every time I see it.)

I think Rann said it best…

FUCKING FUCKERY FUCK.

Look, I live in a small, backwards New Mexican town with 58 churches and only 10 restraunts, so I know lots of these asshats. Try running a Comic Book store that sold D&D;and Magic the Gathering Cards in this sprawling metropolis. I actually had a minister ask me when I raised demons.

Again… FUCKING FUCKERY FUCK.

I try to be tolerant of creationism, I may not agree with it but they are entitled to their own views, but this is just such a reach it just makes me mad.

I remember once a few years back I got a flyer from some church that intended to prove that evolution was false with such statements like “dogs don’t have kittens”. Stupid shit like that are just poor arguements and have nothing to do with evolution. I find that these people have absolutely no idea what evolution is and think it is some linear straight-line. Which is where the whole “Chimpanzees exist so evolution is wrong” arguement exist. No competent evolution proponent says that humans come from chimps or any other modern primate.

The issue with it isn’t that they believe it.  Let’s face it, there are a lot of intelligent people out there who do believe in it.  People in medicine business and even sciences.  The issue comes where they start trying to force everyone else into believing their ideas.  The ones out there always trying to prove the theory of evolution as false, are the morons.  Because they don’t understand that pointing out the holes in one theory doesn’t make their’s true.  Its the tail end of the Richard Dawkins coin and its annoying no matter which side of the aisle it comes from.
