Our President has no balls
A court on Sunday dismissed the case against an Afghan man facing possible execution for converting from Islam to Christianity, officials said, paving the way for his release.
The move eased pressure from the West but raised the dilemma of protecting Abdul Rahman after his release as Islamic clerics have called for him to be killed.
One official said freedom might come as soon as Monday for Rahman, who became a Christian in the 1990s while working for an aid group in neighboring Pakistan.
Muslim extremists, who have demanded death for Rahman as an apostate for rejecting Islam, warned the decision would touch off protests across this religiously conservative country. Some clerics previously vowed to incite Afghans to kill Rahman if he was let go.
Why are we allowing this? Truth: We own Afghanistan, at least the current government. Why in the name of all that is holy would we allow this nonsense? Why isn’t Dubya putting his foot down and demanding that Afghanistan live up to their own constitution much less basic tenets of human rights? Why aren’t we threating Karzai with the leverage we have? This is not the time for spinless diplomacy. Of all the times to be diplomatic, Dubya picks now? Why?
Because George doesn’t really have a spine, that’s why. He’s afraid to rock the political boat, after all it’s just one guy. Geographically, we need Afghanistan to put pressure on Iran. He’s afraid to piss them off...even though we can afford to piss them off and we’d be in the right in doing so.
Another point, and this one is for Dubya personally: Some Christian you are, George. Some Christian you are. Your proclaimed faith is nothing more than a big fat fraud. Forget that you’re the President of the United States of America. Your faith alone should compel you to do everything in your power to make this man safe, for his fate is the fate of millions, and if the mullahs are allowed to do as they please, our fight in Afghanistan and the lives we lost there were for nothing at all. Everything they want to do to him violates religious and secular tenets of human rights. The fact that you are the POTUS means that what is in your power to do is much greater than that of the average person.
Where is our President?
