On being thankful
Normally I would say I have a lot to be thankful for. I have the love of a good woman, a house full of pets and toys and I’m not starving. John Kerry is not my president. Yassir Arafat is dead.
Somehow I simply don’t feel thankful. I have to watch my wife suffer every single day and there isn’t a goddamned thing I can do about it.
No...I wish the spirit of the holiday to everyone else, but I’m going to skip the “what am I thankful for” retrospective this year. Because I’m not satisfied with saying “I’m thankful that we’re still alive.” That’s just not good enough anymore.
I want this to be over. 4 years is quite enough, thank you.

I don’t think you’ll care much, I don’t agree on most of you opinions as leftist. And I don’t think there’s anything to be happy about a man who died.
But beside all matters, I wish every good to your wife. And to you as well, it mustn’t be easy for you.

Some guys don’t get that in an entire lifetime. So, I guess you can be thanksful for that.
