No Idol tonight or this week

I can’t really stand the idea tonight of Idol blogging.  Plus, none of this matters until we get the final 12 and I agree with Donna’s predictions from last week.  I’m gonna bail on writing it all up this week.  I’m in a worse mood now than I was last night, and I just don’t want to do it.  :)

Read a bloody book then :)

I intend to do exactly that.  I plan to read Steve’s book!

Good idea. I’ve cut my shows down to House, Earl, Rome and the Simpsons - even though it’s crap, I feel obliged to suffer through it and it’s only 20 minutes long, after all. I watch Veronica Mars too, but not weekly - I save them up and watch them in mini marathons at the end of the season. Cliffhangers give me the right hump.

I might add that if I ever decide to watch Heroes I’d do it the same way.

Heh, I got to that point with American Idol without watching a single episode! I rule!

Tell me - is American Idol the reason that we’re only getting one new episode of House in seven weeks? If it is, why have the offices of Fox executives not been burnt to the ground with them still in their chairs? Why have the schedulers not been nailed to the studio doors? Why, I ask, why?

Good questions. Why don’t we as viewers have a Neilsen type button to push when a show sucks that will eject the Overpaid Top Exec out of his penthouse and open up room for some new blood?
March is a weird month. There’s the College basketball tournament plus Spring Breaks for schools. Any major break or holiday usually throws shows into reruns.

The last two episodes of House I have seen, last night and last week, were new.

This week’s was new. The previous new one was first broadcast on Feb 13. The next one is on 27 Mar. Bloody schedules.

Bloody AI! Do we really need all these 2 hours episodes? The drama is just pain and agony, not for the contestants but for the viewer, waiting for them to just get to it already for christs sake. The NBC olympic games coverage is not a good model to follow. Ryan is a tool and needs to just go away, forever. I’m with Erik on that.

The CIPA episode was that old? Damn, I got to keep up. Unless my wife is home to record House on Tuesdays I usually catch it on USA later anyway.

Well, thanks for removing one of the simple pleasures in life.  I look forward to your writings on AI more than I do the show.

Its what gets ratings unfortunately.  I would bet the best episode of House hasn’t gotten the same ratings as the worst episode of American Idol.  And when you’re in a sweeps period like February is, they want to get as high of ratings as possible, and that means American Idol as much as possible.

Sad but true. Of course we are talking about two very different audiences. If we could only get teenagers and moms smarter to appreciate House and see what and IQ sucker AI is we would be getting somewhere.

Jim, you fought long and hard. Come back to your senses, let it go.

After seeing Antonella sing again, I think if she stays Simon is just going to start saying “if you are here next week its because people want you to stay as a joke.”

Come on… think of the music videos. She’d be a marketing (wet) dream.

She could be that in Playboy or hustler too, and we wouldn’t have to have her killing our ears.

That’s why your TV has a mute button :)
