My mind boggles
Not only did she say this, but she said it out loud, in public.
“We’re saying that for America to get back on track, we’re probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We’re going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good.”
Yawhowhaa? Come again?
Context:
Headlining an appearance with other Democratic women senators on behalf of Sen. Barbara Boxer, who is up for re-election this year, Hillary Clinton told several hundred supporters—some of whom had ponied up as much as $10,000 to attend—to expect to lose some of the tax cuts passed by President Bush if Democrats win the White House and control of Congress.
“Many of you are well enough off that ... the tax cuts may have helped you,” Sen. Clinton said. “We’re saying that for America to get back on track, we’re probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We’re going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good.”
Yeah, don’t FUCKING TALK ABOUT CUTTING SPENDING OR ANYTHING. JUST FUCK ME OVER SOME MORE. My asshole isn’t QUITE healed from the last time a Clinton fucked me. I can’t WAIT for it to happen again. Maybe *I* can write a book about it this time and make enough money that Whorlary’s retard concepts of economic policy won’t matter, I can just run around the country getting paid to tell people Bill popped one in my ass.
Can someone stuff something in her mouth and shut her up already. I know she doesn’t like her husband...maybe one of those nice lady soldiers assigned to her detail.
Bush fucked me when he raised spending and cut taxes. The trick is to LOWER SPENDING AND LOWER TAXES. REDUCE THE GOVERNMENT TO THE ESSENTIALS.
The only thing worse than a cut & spend Republican is a tax & spend Democrat.

I disagree. At least with the Democrats you know what you’re getting when you mark the X on the ballot. With Republicans, they talk the talk but don’t have the balls to walk to walk (on government size). I do agree, though, that Bush fucked you though.

There’s nothing wrong with weathy people paying more taxes. Unless you’re a neo-con whiner. Self-centered, self-focus and completely ignorant people fail to see the world around them. Move to Iraq so you can see first hand how good you have it. We need taxes and we need to dig ourselves out of Bush’s rediculous deficit. We also need to increase education spending because Bush still has supporters. God I don’t know why.

Why do people feel it is OK to steal from the productive people to give to those that don’t? That is basically what taxes are. Both communism & socialism have discreditted because they suppres the human drive and promote mediocraty, yet the left in this country thinks we should now adopt them.
Rich people - like Ted Kennedy and John Kerry - are not taxed. They have litteraly have armies of accountants and loopholes in the laws thay have passed to protect their own money (and have minimized their income to avoid taxes). The people being taxed and hurt are the new entrepeneurs, working rediculous hours trying to become rich and have their income basically stolen to support parasites in society.
One of the reasons Bush has supporters is because people like me are tired of having their hard earned money being stolen and used by the government to enslave those that make bad choices or are lazy and then demand entitelments.

But it is ok to use you hard earned taxes to invade a sovereign nation in the name of “freedom” and “security” from terrorism and alleged WMD’s. Don’t forget that your family share of the war is $3415 and growing everyday. Also, The 2004-5 budget for homeland security is projected to be around 46 million dollars, while Federal K-12 education spending is still under 45 million. We’re spending money on security (that we can never really have because we’re globally unfriendly) while the education of our children and future take a back seat. And It’s not even about taxes. They will exist with Dems or Rep. (don’t be fooled). It’s how we spend these taxes. Also, while I agree that hard working people feel they are taxed too much (I know I sometimes do), put yourself into the shoes of the very, very poor minorities of this country (especially the children). It’s like being 5-1 in an NBA world while the rich bastards are born SHAQ. Yeah you can get there, but it’s damn near impossible...and you’ll never dunk. I suggest working with some disadvantaged kids sometime. You’ll want to give them anything you have. You’ll never ever ever be happy with the goal of becoming rich. You may think so, but as you look around, you’ll learn that you’ll trade that wealth for education, respect and understanding of all cultures and classes. Democracy is not socialism… socialism doesn’t work. Democracy is advancing a society, not just the top 1% on the backs of the middle and lower class. And one more thing. Unless you are in the top 1% of the wealthy (upper class), you’re getting screwed by both Government and the corporations who run it. Under Clinton the middle class did better and made more money. People fail to acknowledge that time and time again. Peace.

PART I
But it is ok to use you hard earned taxes to invade a sovereign nation in the name of “freedom” and “security” from terrorism and alleged WMD’s.
Funny how the left feels Iraq, run by a brutal dictator who got into power by killing the previous dictator, then proceeded to rape his country, it’s people (sometimes literally), and it’s neighbors, is the head of a sovereign nation, while Bush - whom almost had the election stolen from him by democrats whom figured they would change the rules of the game in mid course to produce them a victory (don’t take my word for it just look it up) but got smacked down – is called selected.
Don’t forget that your family share of the war is $3415 and growing everyday.
I am willing to pay a lot more to stay free and safe from terrorism. After all, if I am dead keeping that money does me no good. I also have a job that allows me to make money because we are fighting the terrorists and preventing them from destroying our economy.
And I am a lot more pissed about the almost $50K I get taken from me in taxes every year, most of which goes to provide entitlements to parasites that are lazy, make stupid choices, or do both but then expect the government to bail them out.
Also, The 2004-5 budget for homeland security is projected to be around 46 million dollars, while Federal K-12 education spending is still under 45 million.
First off you might want to check your numbers. Did you mean billions? Or are you talking about some local budget? Never mind. Let me just get to the point and destroy this dumb argument as well.
Another myth from the left: students would do better if we spend more money on them. This is bunk. America spends per capita more than any other nation in the world on its students. The fact is that the vast majority of underperforming students would not do any better even if we spend 10 million dollars a year on them. The reason is simple: public schools can’t discipline the unruly, have enormous amounts of their cash siphoned into a government bureaucracy instead of being applied to helping the kids, are more often than not dominated by unionized thugs that spend more time brainwashing the students to become lefties than teaching, and most important of all often have kids that are not interested in learning (be it because they see that attitude at home or get it pushed on them by their peers) period.
You want to fix education? Get rid of the bureaucracy, punish the unruly that cause disruption for real, get rid of the unions and the teachers that are there to indoctrinate instead of educate, but most important of all: make sure every kid and their family knows that if they are not engaged and work to get educated, they will be left by the wayside. After all, if I can slack off and then demand some rich guy get robbed so the government can pay for my bad choices, why should I ever bust my balls?
We’re spending money on security (that we can never really have because we’re globally unfriendly) while the education of our children and future take a back seat.
Sniff sniff. The chilruns! The chilruns! Spare me this liberal clap trap tactic. It’s the always the same with you people. It’s for the children. You’re a racist/homophobe/bigot/Nazi for not agreeing with the communist left!
If terrorist where not deterred and where able to come here to do their evil deeds, in the process killing these kids, how much good would an education do them? Oh wait I forgot. You liberals will somehow convince the terrorists to leave you alone by talking and threatening law suits. Yeah right.
It’s how we spend these taxes.
On this we definitely agree. I think I remember reading somewhere - the Constitution maybe- that the federal government can levy taxes to pay for the military, to protect us, and to build the country’s infrastructure for commerce. Why some feel it’s OK for my money to be taken away and used to enslave the people that choose to not be educated and work hard (like I did) to reach the American dream, by some politicians that know they will keep these people beholden to their largess, is beyond me.
I suggest working with some disadvantaged kids sometime. You’ll want to give them anything you have.
Been there done that. And I definitely don’t want government taking care of them. Nothing does more damage to creating the drive and ambition to succeed than getting handouts from the government. As for giving them what I have, I prefer to inculcate in them the same values I have, and allow them to then go succeed on their own.

PART II
You’ll never ever ever be happy with the goal of becoming rich.
What the hell kind of clap trap is this? My goal is to do the best I can for myself and my family in the one nation of the world that guaranteed me the freedom to both pursue my dreams and enjoy that success. If it’s not yours then I congratulate you on being a better person than me (that is sarcasm by the way if you don’t get it). However keep your grubby paws of what I have worked to achieve and definitely don’t try to force on me your choices/cookie ideas by using the government as the redistribution sledgehammer.
You may think so, but as you look around, you’ll learn that you’ll trade that wealth for education, respect and understanding of all cultures and classes.
I will have you know I am making my wealth based on the fact that I worked hard to get an education (and worked to pay for it too). Education doesn’t guarantee wealth, but it sure gives you the opportunity by opening lots of more doors. I give a rat’s ass about getting respect or respecting morons that feel it’s OK to do stupid or bad things (like stealing from the productive to give to the unproductive). And having had the opportunity to live in over 28 countries and being fluent in 7 languages – is that an education or what – I will let you know there are plenty of cultures and classes that deserve nothing but our scorn and contempt. One of the most horrible things we have done, and which I think has directly affected the ability of the last and next generations to come from avoiding stupid choices, is foster this myth that all cultures are equal, and hence you can’t look down upon those that are bad. That’s also why you probably made that idiotic claim Iraq was a sovereign nation at the start of your post I bet.
Democracy is advancing a society, not just the top 1% on the backs of the middle and lower class.
LOL! Da commarade. Shows me what they have been teaching you. Democracy, and to a greater extend the Republican Democracy that we have in America, is about giving all its citizens freedom, a chance to pursue happiness, and the right to participate in the determination of who will be in and lead their government. None of this social clap trap is guaranteed in anything but screed written by Marx, Engels, and Lenin, and fostered in the new religions of communism and socialism. Sounds pretty and makes for great slogans, but in the end its hollow and meaningless.
The United States is about freedom of OPPORTUNITY, not results. That is why it is the country where members of your lower and middle class used to have the greatest chance of making it to the top. And I say used to because the current government policies of punishing the hard workers for their success has made it very hard for people to reach the top, while guaranteeing those already there remain there. BTW I would rather be the lower class in the US than the middle or upper class in most countries on this world. That’s how good we got it here.
Under Clinton the middle class did better and made more money.
Show me those statistics please. As I recall it, Clinton inherited an economy that had emerged from a recession – despite what the media told us in that election year – was lucky enough to have Congress go to fiscal republicans who made smart money decisions, and was too busy with interns and polls to do much allowing for a few years of prosperity. That is until the bubble burst and we got another recession. Bush had the luck of inheriting said recession, suffering the devastating 9-11 attacks, dealing with a war on terror, and having to fight off the lies of the left. While things where rough there for a while, our economy is purring and doing well, and will continue to do so. The numbers I have seen have put the economy under Bush, even with all the setbacks it has endured, on par with that during the Clinton years. You are just not getting those facts because it doesn’t suit the current anti-Bush agenda of the media.
Clinton won his first election by beating Bush father with the “It’s the economy stupid” myth. If the economy was so much better then, why is Kerry and the media not all over it? Don’t take my word for it. Here is an old article to back my point up, and if you care to look for the newer ones – and the web is full of them despite the fact the lefty media ignores them - you will see it’s getting even better. But why let facts get in the way of good fiction that proves your point.

My bad… it was billions. What a waste of cash. Ohh I see there is a high alert of the 4th weekend. Wooo. Please save me from the bad people Mr. President. Please..
If you paid 50k in taxes then I don’t need to go anyfurther with this conversation. You have no reason to bitch or complain about taxes when you make that much.
You chose cash over intellect long ago. But please enjoy the Kerry administration because the train is coming. Bush is a complete failure.. and arguably the stupidest president ever to take office. Well, maybe not arguably.
So you believe that this war is worth the 10,000 plus Iraqis and nearly 1000 US casualties.
Great… Good work.
I’m geting back to work. This is a waste of time.

The only thing worse than a cut & spend Republican is a tax & spend Democrat
So you’d rather pay interest down the road than to pay the costs off now? I agree cutting spending is the best choice, but telling a politician to stop spending is like telling a drunk to stop pissing. Since wild-ass spending is what Washington does, I feel better paying now, interest-free. Just as I like paying for personal purchases with cash rather than make my bank a little richer for no good reason. It may feel good to know that your tax freedon day is in April, but the bill will come due eventually.
Oh, and Alex, citing Newsmax as a source is about as solid as a liberal citing Streisand or Garofolo. I mean jesus, those simpletons (all of the above-mentioned) see the world in shades most americans don’t live in. Spinsanity, Snopes, and the like are much more balanced and reasonable.

Rather than argue the source, just argue the material. I’m so sick of seeing valid points of view thrown away becuase of the URL someone gives.
Get over yourself.

Jim,
Why the anger? You rich bastard! Either you become non productive and join our ranks, or we will keep savaging your “productive a$$” for all it’s worth!
Billary & the other donkeys....
