More Lawless for us
Nice.
Lucy Lawless, already a cult heroine from her days as Xena, is about to pick up even more geek cred.
Lawless will join the cast of the Sci Fi Channel’s “Battlestar Galactica” for its third season, reprising her role as D’Anna Biers. She’s scheduled to appear in 10 episodes of season three, which begins filming in the spring.
Fans of the critically hailed show won’t have to wait to see her again, though—she’s set to make another guest appearance in an episode scheduled for Friday, Feb. 24.
I thought she was excellent as D’Anna Biers. She brought a power to the screen that some of the guest actors don’t always have (although the main cast has it in spades). Too bad she got stuck in that Xena stuff for so long. She’s a hell of an actress, and while the fantasy/sci-fi genre is fun, it’s the rare show like BSG that lets an actor really work.
P.S. - I know, I skipped a BSG discussion post this week. I’m getting tired of writing the same thing...I want more action. Make things happen. This past week was better than the previous two or three, but lets’s speed it up there, peoples! I really truly feel that they are spreading out the action points of the plot over seasons two and three, whereas in season one they just went for it.
