Machinema, only static
Now this is a cool idea. And the comic is well done to boot!
The project is a comic based off the game Half-Life 2 by Valve Software. This game is quite simply the most amazingly engrossing story that I have ever seen in a video game. Needless to say, it got me inspired, but I had no idea what I could really do.
...
The comic will be called Apostasy, and it will follow 3 characters through a story that happens around the same time as the game… in fact the story will interweave with the game story.
Here is the author’s blog as well.

Btw, that stuff is pretty cool, and so is half-life 2… I just don’t think it’s the greatest thing in the world and I still like doom 3 and its expansion which was just released.

Half-Life 2 isn’t *that* good. In fact, it has relatively serious problems. You can tell that the designers were trying a little too hard. The game is somewhat unnatural. And of course the graphics tech is neatly trumped by id’s Doom 3. You can’t have the best game of all time without the best graphics of all time (to date) as well. Just doesn’t work. The biggest problem with HL2 is the same as almost every other shooter though. The basic gameplay boils down to hiding behind crap and popping out to shoot stuff. People can say what they want about Doom 3’s AI, but at least most of the enemies hurled projectile’s at you which you could face like a man (attempting to dodge rather than hiding behind walls waiting for a chance to take a shot).
