Lies, lies and pies: Another day with Moore

Right-Thinking from the Left Coast and Ryne McClaren pointed this one out to me.  How is it that a “reporter” can’t be bothered to fact-check?  Has the state of journalism world-wide devolved into nothing more than apromotional vehicle for whatever fat-faced, fake-image-having blowhard happens to give them 5 minutes?

Tim Blair picked this story apart, but he missed something:

There were no publicity tours, no chat-show appearances, no advance copies dispatched to reviewers. The idea was that the book would quietly disappear, but something else happened. Stupid White Men ... and Other Sorry Excuses for the State of the Nation shot to the top of The New York Times best-seller list and stayed there, despite the fact that the liberal newspaper hasn’t reviewed it. In Britain, it topped the best-seller list before it was released, thanks to internet sales. And in Australia it remained in the best-seller list for three months. Moore had become, no doubt about it, a phenomenon.

This is, to put it mildly, a load of horse shit.  I personally saw him on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, pimping “Stupid White Men.” I read about him on The View (he had a bit of a row with Joy Behar).  A quick Google search turned up a few others, inculding one in England on BBC4.

Why lie?  THIS IS THE INTERNET, WE CAN LOOK IT UP.
