Koppel’s a jerkoff
Oh, THAT liberal media.
“Memorial Day might have been the most logical occasion on which to do this program. But we felt that the impact would actually be greater on a day when the entire nation is not focused on its war dead,” said “Nightline” anchor Ted Koppel.
And does anyone else think that truthfully, the average American is going to watch this past the first 20, 50, 100 names? 20 minutes in, this is going to become a blur of sadness and the war dead will be even more of a commodity thanks to Koppel’s selling them.
Did they get permission from each family to use their loved ones like this? If it were a member of my family I would punch Koppel in his face and then sue ABC.
I like what The Corner had to say about this:

I have no problem with reading the names. Did anyone have problems listing the names of 9/11 victims during the super bowl? no. This is a tribute to people who gave their lives for this country. The media is trying to be compassionate, enough liberal media bullshit. This is about respect, which apparently none of you have.

Now that the horrifying details of Nick Berg’s brutal murder have been released, I hope that Nightline is not going to ignore it? Or blame the Bush administration instead of the criminals? They have the right to show anti-American propoganda, but please, NOT THIS TIME!

That’s Ted Koppel’s comment on the upcoming “Nightline” show that will be nothing but a roll call of Americans killed by hostile fire in Iraq. For Ted Koppel, an avid Bush-hater and opponent of the war, the only part of the war he sees is the cost. What about the benefits? Too bad Nightline won’t be reading the names of the people who AREN’T dead too\r

I completely agree
