It’s official. I pissed off an ancient and vengeful Mayan god.
After all the nightmares I have had with my desktop over the last two years, I thought it was all over. The new machine has been running SO good.
Until tonight.
I was pretty tired, so I went to take a nap. Before I did, I set up a DVD to rip to the hard drive and walked away. When I woke up, the machine was bluescreened. No problem, I rebooted.
Huh. Trapped in a reboot cycle. Umm...safe mode doesn’t boot?
This began a comedy of errors and error messages that have resulted in me not being able to boot from *ANYTHING*, not even a rescue disc, a floppy, a Knoppix CD, nada. So I’m back on the old-ass trusty half-dying laptop.
I swear, I should buy an XBox and a Mac and just give up on PC desktops. I can’t take the stress anymore.

If you blue screen repeatedly on startup with a windows xp computer it’s *probably* a hardware problem (overheating, bad ram, etc.).
If possible test components one by one (one stick of ram at a time etc.).
