Ipod saves Soldier’s Life

Photos sent to me by my friend Danny with this caption:
My wife’s uncle works in a military hospital and told me about this. Its pretty amazing. Kevin Garrad (3rd Infantry Division) was on a street patrol in Iraq (Tikrit I believe) and as he rounded the corner of a building an armed (AK-47) insurgent came from the other side.
The two of them were within just a few feet of each other when they opened fire. The insurgent was killed and Kevin was hit in the left chest where his IPod was in his jacket pocket. It slowed the bullet down enough that it did not completely penetrate his body armor. Fortunately, Kevin suffered no wound.
I thought it was a great story so I posted them here.
I guess iPods really are amazing.

Is there anything Ipods can’t do?
Well other than cook and clean my house, but not everything is perfect.

Some day Apple will sell the iBot, and it will cook, clean, “handle your business” ifyaknowwhatimean and download music and movies at the same time.
Problem is it’ll cost two children and require a small nuclear reactor to charge it. Plus the software to manage the library will run for crap on anything but the JOBS/GATES_OS_MEGA_EDITION. Still...progress marches forward!

Apple should send this soldier a top of the line iPod replacement with Jobs signature. I’m happy we didn’t lose this guy and Apple can’t buy publicity like this.

I got my iPod free. I had earned enough best execution points from work to get a $150.00 gift certificate to Amazon. Amazon had a promotion for this online book club that gave you $100.00 off the price of an iPod. I go through audio books like water so it was the perfect combination for me.
I spent about 36 total hours importing my CD collection to iTunes. Ever since, I have been wondering why I was carrying around those damned CDs.
I have been born again to the church of the iPod.

No no no no no...I’ve seen this movie.
Soon they gain sentience, and then all the sudden they want rights and shit, and next thing ya know their looken for some woman named Sarah Conner…
or their looken for their Mommy, only to get frozen in a block of ice to wait for aliens to unfreeze them to have that one perfect day…
or the programming that keeps them from killing us all gets all jacked and we have to wait for Will “i am a real Actor” Smith to save us all…
Or even worse, they decide that we all sux ass for treating them like Toasters, try to kill us all, then go away for awhile to create exact duplicates of us, only to come back to kill us all and I end up having sex with Tricia Helfer…
So maybe it won’t be all bad.

... Christian, I don’t know what goes on inside your head, and times like this prove I don’t want to…

I dunno, I thought it was mildly amusing.
But the real question is, will they be Transformers?
--TR

Someone in the link suggsted they change the MAc PC commercials.
But the iPod guys should be progressively smaller midgets, from regular down to nano, with progressively bigger heads depending on the Gb of memory…
