Idiots and morons, an ongoing series
What do you do when you want illegal immigrants to be forgiven for violating the law? Do you march on Washington? Sure. Do you try to buy a few Congresscritters? Absolutely. Do you try to beat the shit out of an old man? You betcha.
The IFIRE/CMP folks stood together on the sidewalk, and the counter-protesters formed a line, surrounding us, and walked in a circle, jeering, chanting, and shouting slurs like “racist” and “Nazi” in our faces as they jostled by us.
Then the altercation went down. The cops were around the corner, and took a couple of minutes to get through the crowd…
They tried to calm everyone down, and figure out what had happened.
Rick and Joe explained that someone had grabbed Rick’s sign and tore it up, then he was hit. Joe jumped in to try and help him, and he was then attacked by the group.
The police called an ambulance for Rick, who took a solid hit to the head. Joe had a good size lump on his head, as well. Fortunately, neither of them needed to be taken to the hospital for medical care.
I know what you’re thinking. The Minutemen are exaggerating, right? Well, a picture is worth a thousand words.
I can’t think of a good reason why these guys got assaulted. These guys aren’t saying Mexicans and other immigrants are worthless, sub-human, nothing like that. They’re not calling them names. They simply want them to FOLLOW THE LAW and come here legally so they can contribute to this country instead of siphoning off billions and sending it, under the table, around the globe. All the Minutemen are asking is that they follow existing laws. They want the border as secure as we can make it, as opposed to the free-for-all it is now. That’s it. This is not the Klan or neo-nazi scumbags, as the media would lead you to believe. Those groups come to these things even after being told to stay the hell away because they go where the cameras are.
Some people wanted to demonstrate their First Amendment rights, and what did the minorities marching in support of illegal immigration do? They beat people up.
Wow. Talk about making the Minutemen’s point for them.
We need stronger border security. I support HR 4437 and bills like it, and I think you should as well.
