I can’t think of anything I want more (Battlestar Galactica discussion)

WARNING: Battlestar discussion after the jump.  Spoilers ahead!

Spoilers in 3,

2,

1.

Seemed like another housekeeping episode.  BSG has slowed down a lot this season, and I’m starting to resent it.  The frenetic pace of season 1 is gone...and I miss it terribly.

Nothing actually happened in this episode for all the things that happened.  Pegasus lost a commander.  Lee shot a scumbag.  Rosalyn and Gaius faced off.  Been there, done that.

Too much gothy-goth emo misery with Lee.  Mystery is good...by the time the explanation came for who the flashback blonde was, I was sick of it.  Just tell me already.  What I loved about Galactica was that every episode advanced the story for the entire fleet.  They have lost that somehow...probably because they know they’re going to be around for awhile and are stretching things out.

Lazy frigging writers.  :)

So...what does this all mean?  Well, who will run the Pegasus is a big deal.  Seems to me the next ranking officer is Tigh, but he’s a total frack-up as a commander.  We don’t know jack about the Pegasus command structure, so who knows who Adama will pick.

Zarak seems to be taking over the black market on Prometheus...that was the feeling I got.  Good.  He knows how important it is and also has a moral line he won’t cross.  I’m starting to get the feeling, by the way, that he didn’t blow up that government building for which he was serving a prison term when we first met him.  He has a moral compass...maybe I’m misjudging him, but blowing up a building full of innocent people seems like it would violate his sense of right and wrong.  He’ll kill a specific target, one he sees as wrong or immoral, but I dunno about terrorism anymore.  I guess we’ll find out eventually.

Lee is SO a fracking Cylon.  All the angst and emo crap looks just like Galactica Sharon before she was activated.

I wish Galactica would get back to the travel to Earth, the prophecy, the military actions against the Cylons, infiltration by the Cylons...you know, the stuff that made the show popular.  I hate to say this, but the show was a lot better when we were tracking all those different stories all over the place...the crash on Kobol, the people on Caprica, mystery and intrigue on Galactica, etc.

Bring back the fracking excitement already.

I dunno, I actually liked this episode. It made me LIKE a character, something I’ve been waiting for this series to do. I truly respect a man that will say “Fuck you” to the stupid line of “You can’t kill me, you’ll be just like me”. Lee actually made me like him, and though the episode is just as emo and whiny as the rest of the friggin’ series (c’mon, it’s a whiny series), he himself made me sit up and care, which I’d yet to do. I’d really disliked the characters while considering the show fairly watchable, but Lee actually made me care, in this ep, which is a definite bonus.

I do like that he shot the guy, but I totally exopected it and I kind of knew Lee had it in him to do...I just want moe.  More.  MORE.  I am a greedy little viewer.

Dee, is the cylon, i saw it when she went after billy in the minni.....

I liked this eps, Lee, actually showed some backbone, even in front of his old man.
Now Zarak, hes very dangerous, i gonna assume that all this was a power grab by him, he manipulated events to move in his favor.
Baltar continues to disappoint, and the cylon/mind bitch of his....

I do agree that this season has slowed down a bit, the writers and producers better get their asses in gear, maybe do some re writing of the original series eps, or maybe some real aliens.
Adama did state that the humans were not the only intelligences out there.

Eh, everyone’s a prick in this series, Baltar just has a bit more excuse. Not only does he have Cylon Snidebitch in his head, President Hosebeast seems determined to not just burn her bridges, but absolutely decimate them.

“The fire burned the bridge, but it’s still there, just charred and smoking? Napalm it! What, the foundations of the bridge are left? NUKE THAT FUCKER!”
