It has uses, even though you’re right, it is kind of silly.  Last night during the premiere of Drive, the director was texting info and background during the show.  This is just like a mailing list, only for texting.

Sounds like a DVD commentary type thing if used in that manner, but for someone’s day to day “ass scratching” it seems a waste.
