Gentlemen, behold! I have created a sacrificial lamb!
The head of the Cartoon Network resigned Friday following a marketing stunt that caused a terrorism scare in Boston and led police to shut down bridges and send in the bomb squad. The announcement of Jim Samples’ resignation came in an internal memo to Cartoon Network staff members.
‘’It’s my hope that my decision allows us to put this chapter behind us and get back to our mission of delivering unrivaled original animated entertainment for consumers of all ages,’’ said Samples, who was the network’s general manager and executive vice president.
He said he regretted what had happened and felt ‘’compelled to step down, effective immediately, in recognition of the gravity of the situation that occurred under my watch.’’
Well, maybe everyone will get the sand out of their vaginas now that a head has in fact rolled.

Also, totally off topic, but Jim, if you get a chance, check out Rainbow Six: Vegas… lots and lots of fun.

Here’s an idea! Let’s use this for a positive spin, and install someone who won’t:
1) Give the go-ahead to another dozen crappy Williams Street productions that charge $10,000 for a season and spend $300 on a season so they can blow the rest on pot and beer. (Just because South Park’s very first episode started like that does not mean it’s a formula to be applied to an entire show.)
2) Cheap out on paying Warner Brothers the royalties they want so that we don’t get Justice League and Teen Titans being canceled to be replaced by mediocre idiocy like Squirrel Boy and My Gym Partner’s a Monkey.

If I were an executive, I’d come out swinging, and point out the sheer incompetency of the authorities in that it took them 3 weeks to notice these things, and blame them for keeping the city shutdown for hours even after it became obvious there was no threat.
