For the 12th anniversary of my 25th birthday…
...I just ever-loving fucking wrecked my diet. Happy birthday to me!
Earlier today I “graduated” from PT, meaning I no longer need to be supervised and can just go do my thing at the gym like a normal person. I did an hour’s workout. Normally I do a half-hour in the gym and an hour or 90 minutes in the pool, but they’ve closed the pool for a week to clean it and start over with the water. A good damn thing...last week the water was so heavily chlorinated that it literally, no exaggeration, burned the hair off most of my body. Turns out the sensor was stuck on zero and it was continually dumping chlorine for weeks.
So no pool for me. Since it’s another anniversary of my 25th, we decided to go out to dinner, but I’m way, way too sore and exhausted. Instead, we got KFC. First time I’ve had it since I started this crap. God, I love me some KFC. I mean love love. I know it’s total shit, but i do not even care a little bit, I love the crap.
I just ate two days worth of calories in one meal.
Needless to say I’ll be suffering for it until Saturday, when we do a little joint birthday thing for me and jo-jo at the in-laws’ house. Whereupon I plan to fuck up a steak and ruin my diet yet some more with birthday cake. Fuck it. I mean, I can just eat twigs and fruit for a few days. It’s totally going to be worth it. :)
By the way, I’ve almost hit 20 pounds loss. So close! Too bad this week fell when it did, with the pool being closed and a holiday on Monday...gym’s closed too. I’ll just have to suffer by being lazy and slovenly for a couple of days. How will I stand it? ;)

You shouldn’t try to compensate by over-dieting aftewards, Jim. It’s a great way to fall off the wagon completely. Instead, just think “This week I didn’t lose any weight but damn, it was worth it, and these weeks only come about two or three times a year”. There’s no harm in pushing your weight target back a week or two as long as you don’t do it every week.
Speaking from experience,

Orpheus - good point...I’ll probably just do what I normally do and call this week a wash. So be it if I didn’t stay perfectly on the wagon...I have lots of time to lose it.
Erik: Just a few hours later and I feel slow, heavy...and I think something is rumbling. ;)

That’s the attitude that will give you long-term success rather than short-term loss followed by yo-yo weight gain.

Well, like I say… everything in moderation… especially moderation.

You have a better chance of dunking a basketball on a regulation NBA court, sis-in-law o’ mine. :)

Happy birthday Jim!
time to go grab some sushi…
Tried that for the first time a couple weeks ago and didn’t have a good experience. I tried the tuna nigiri appetizer. I don’t know if it was just the restaurant, seasoning, or what, but it smelled and tasted like something a hospital would use to scrub the cafeteria floor. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to bring myself to try raw fish again.

Curious to know how your body reacted to that. After I gave up greasy foods my body really started to hate them. I’m to the point now where I actually find them unappetizing. Speaking of which, time to go grab some sushi…
