Don’t panic! I’m from the government and I’m here to help!
Another nanny to watch over you is just what you need, right?
Legislation will be introduced in Albany on Wednesday to lay a $100 fine on pedestrians succumbing to what State Sen. Carl Kruger calls iPod oblivion.
“We’re talking about people walking sort of tuned in and in the process of being tuned in, tuned out,” Kruger said. “Tuned out to the world around them. They’re walking into speeding cars. They’re walking into buses. They’re walking into one another and it’s creating a number of fatalities that have been documented right here in the city.”
Interestingly, the story doesn’t mention State Senator Carl Moron Kruger’s political party. Are you prepared to be shocked and amazed?
He’s another nanny state NY Democrat. I know, I know...rare breed, those NY Democrats who want to legislate absolutely every detail and aspect of the life of a New York State resident. But there you have it. Senator Idiotface Kruger is here to help you live in a bubble of soft, downy protection. I hear that if you ask real nice, he’ll wash your ass with damp silk and blow it dry with air kisses, because wiping it yourself would be too dangerous!
How long? How long must we sing this song? How many times will you simply chuckle and say “Oh those politicians!” before you actually start to realize how many thousands of ways you let these idiots take control of your life? They work for us. We don’t work for them. We fought a frigging revolution to throw off the shackles of serfdom, and yet we roll over and let these king and queen wannabes treat us like subjects instead of citizens.
I picked on the New York Democrat here, but we all know this is not a New York rarity nor is it the exclusive purview of the Democrats. Nanny-statism is rampant among the GOP as well.
We have to draw the line somewhere and it’s a lot easier to start small. So start here, New Yorkers. Tell this idiot he can’t possibly be doing anything but trying to generate a new revenue stream for the state with this nonsense law and you won’t stand for it. Take a stance. Spend three minutes to send his office an email. Call his office and tell them to back that truck up.
District Office
Office of State Senator Carl Kruger

If you are successful and Carl Kruger backs down...you’ve achieved a victory. You can then use that momentum to affect another change, and another, and another, and pretty soon, well have the kind of government we really deserve instead of the one we get by letting only the loudest and the shrillest voices be heard.

Leave them alone!!!

Darwinism in action, the problem solves itself!

Come on Jim...this is just exactly what the government is there for. I mean, if they didn’t tell us about the dangerous of Ipods, or Transfats, or smoking outside, who would? I can’t wait for all my decisions to be made for me. My life will be soooo much better when we give up our free will and let politicians make all our decisions. I mean, look how well they have handled the war on crime, the war on poverty, and, most of all, the war. I personally welcome our new bubblewrapping, nanny providing overlords.
Um...just a clarification. Sarcasm is still allowed, right?
