Dodge Challenger concept revisited

I’ve drooled over the 2006 Dodge Challenger before when Autoweek caught some spy photos, so if you’re not interested...move along.  I have a mouthful of drool and a stack of pictures over which I must lust.

This car looks amazing.  A real muscle-car look for once.  I’m truly impressed and would gladly buy one...if, like, I had money and stuff.  We know from the 300 and the Magnum that the platform is a performer.  I’m totally in love.

10 more pictures after the jump.  I believe all of these are rendered, but as you can see in the spy photos here, the real thing actually looks like the renders.  I ‘d love to see this prowling down a street…

It debuts live in afew days in Detroit.  I can’t wait.

*UPDATE*

More pics (and they look like actual photos) here and here. Car & Driver has tech specs here.

That’s a fine looking car.

And now for a bit of off topicness… my Firefly box arrived two days ago and I’m somewhere in the middle of disk three.  It took a few episodes for me to get into it, but by now I’m quite hooked.

Quick question, where does the movie fit in?  Retelling?  Continuation?  Prequel?  It’s got the same actors I assume?  It got great ratings and I’m really interested in seeing it now.  I fear it’s too late for the series though :(

The movie is a continuation with just a wee bit of revisionist retelling at the very very beginning.

It fits...but that short beginning part contradicts what we know from the series.  Other than that...straight continuation.

Good show, right?  Fox could have promoted that thing into a decent run if they really wanted to.  I wish F/X or SciFi would offer to pick up the series again right where they left off and just ignore the movie completely.

My friend’s brother is working on the SRT concept version of this car. Had a look at it when we visited him in the Dirty D (Detroit) last week.

Wow.

I wish the blue hand guys story got resolved.

I forget how the Tam story began in the tv show.. how was it revised in the movie?

We caught a bit of an original Battlestar Galactica marathon on Space (Canada’s SciFi channel) last weekend.. I was amazed how good that show was.

god i am an idiot, that’s a challenger, but having woke up only minutes before i posted i saw that as a charger...i should hold to my rule of the internet “no posting before a cup of coffee and having been awake an hour”.
