Ding dong, the witch isn’t dead - Hillary Clinton declares she’s in

And with one announcement, Democrats felt a great disturbance in the force, as if dozens of candidates cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, hounded for months with questions about her presidential ambitions, gave a two-word answer today to voters: ``I’m in.’’

In an Internet video statement, the New York Democrat and former First Lady said she would be forming an exploratory committee to determine whether she will become a formal candidate for the Democratic nomination in 2008, the first step in launching a full-scale campaign.

Say goodbye to Al The Cigar Store Indian, The Breck Girl, Jesus H. Obama, Lurch Q. Vietnam and anyone else who fancies themselves a candidate.  This woman plays for keeps, boys.  If you thought the Republican machine played dirty...The Wicked Witch of the East doesn’t play around.

Of course there’s no way she can win the actual presidency, but man, the Democrats will be letting some blood amongst themselves over the next couple of years.  Should be fun to watch.

The way they fetishize Obama I could really see him getting the nod too. She definitely has the edge though.

It’s between those two really… and the one that comes up short will probably get the VP ticket.

I can the folks obsessed with diversity going nuts over a ticket with a black guy and a woman… just so long as they are democrats of course. Everyone knows that black republicans are Oreos

While watching Hillary go up against Condi might be amusing as hell, all the Republicans would have to do to win is run a man. Period.

Because there’s just as many uber-sexist Democrats as there are Republicans, and they’d vote counter-party before they’d vote for a woman.

Though I do wonder if what Chris Rock said about a black VP with a white President is true… some black guy would whack the President so the black VP could step up, ‘cause what’re they gonna do? Send the shooter to jail with a bunch of other black people that’ll treat him like a hero. I mean, it’d mean four years of a Democrat president, but at least we’d be rid of Hillary.

Good lord Rann, you’re going to get the Secret Service on both our asses!

Disclaimer - In no way to I endorse the idea of anyone whacking Hillary for any reason.  Unless it’s over the head with the broom she rides to work.

I still get the giggles when I remember the callsign the military air controllers gave her aircraft when she “visited the troops” in Iraq for Thanksgiving last year - “Broomstick One”.

If she is elected, you will see SUCH a mass de-enlistment drive that it will make Carter’s years seem like the days just after Pearl Harbor.

Never say never dude. Time to start preparing for the worst now.

Hey, all I was doing was quoting Chris Rock! I also do not in any way encourage, endorse, or condone the assassination of any US President or Presidential candidate.

... I might still be tempted to have a little party, tho…

For right-leaning types, which already-announced Democrat is a better option than Hillary?

Yeah, because nothing says “global projection of power” like “Run away! Run away!”

Well, for the purposes of Republicans, Hillary’s perfect. She won’t win. Latent sexism, dissident portions of her own party that actually manage to see her for the useless bint she is, and the fact that she could be swiftboated almost as thoroughly as Kerry would sink her like a rock. (To be honest, despite his super-charisma and momentum, I think Obama would have just as difficult a problem fighting against the latent racism of the Democrats.)

And yes, stranger things have happened, but I honestly don’t think they’d happen here. I really do believe about a quarter to a half of Democrats, at least, would either not vote, or guiltily vote Republican, then spend the next four years crying stolen election and claiming they voted for Clinton/Obama, obviously.

If you’re asking which Democrat candidate Republicans and Right-leaning types would vote for if we had to choose… I, personally, don’t know enough about the other candidates to choose. I do know that I’d write in for Walt Disney’s frozen head before I’d vote for Clinton or Kerry. I might vote for Obama if it was a choice between him and a Megatron/Starscream ticket, but frankly, despite the Republicans’ corruption, arrogance, and intolerance, I honestly think an extremely large portion of Democrat politicians are insane. And I don’t mean figuratively, I mean I think that a good handful of them should be committed to mental institutions because they are quite literally suffering from some sort of mania or dementia.

Now, is that a write in option?

I must be a sexist hatemonger, because I still have no idea what makes this woman a valid choice for the presidency other than that she engineered her husband into being the president. I’ve heard the feminists go on and on about how accomplished she is, how much she has done for the sisterhood, and realize that she is the embodiment of the Clinton Presidency: All Style, no substance.

Anyone catch SNL last night? Even the libs know she’s playen them.

I strongly disagree and most everyone said the same thing about Bill.

Bill was not a female, and had not already had a tenure in the white house to spout ridiculous things like “vast Right-wing conspiracy”.

There was another thing that he did have that she doesn’t, though…

Charisma.

(Betcha thought I was gonna say something else, huh?)

Ok, I know this thread is older than dirt, but I just thought I’d mention The Secret Diary of Hillary Clinton. Done in the same spirit and style as Fake Steve Jobs. This is some insanely funny shit here.
