Andy Barker P.I. - Cancelled
It’s dead. I’ll tell you exactly why:
1. Andy Richter is simply not good enough, funny enough or skilled enough to carry a show. Of any kind. Make him what he is, a second banana. He works in that role, he looks like a support actor, he acts like a support actor. Stop trying to make him a star, Conan O’Brien.
2. They completely ignored the one really good hook the show had - filming it in the noir style, in color, without using stilted dialogue and corny phrases. The last few episodes only contained a shot or two in the noir style. The entire show should have been done that way, it made everything more interesting and it helped sell the old guy - the one character that spoke in 30s detective style - as much funnier.
3. The cast included someone from Arrested Development. That’s like begging to be canceled no matter how good you are.

I think Andy Richter Controls the Universe was his best shot at a series. It had that absurdity moments that Scrubs and Family Guy both have. But it wasn’t that good overall, just his best shot.

I’ve been liking later episodes of 30 Rock, mainly for Kenneth and of course Baldwin. Man’s a crazy moonbat in real life but he’s freaking great in that role.
The part of 30 Rock I sort of tune out for is anything with the writers room or Liz complaining about men. ZZzzZzzznore.
Without Kenneth and Jack, that show would suck the fart out of a dying cow.

4. And they renewed 30 Rock for another season. Kinda says it all.
