A true artist in his field…
Media duped by beheading on fake video
A San Francisco computer expert has duped the international news media into believing that Islamic kidnappers had executed an American hostage in Iraq by staging his own mock beheading on the Internet. The FBI questioned Benjamin Vanderford, 22, shortly after the hoax became public Saturday. “We will pursue any and all legal avenues for prosecution,” said LaRae Quy, a special agent in the bureau’s San Francisco office. “At this point, the matter is still under investigation.”
1. The guy that made this video is a class A asshole. If there was a federal agency for grading assholes, he would receive this highest grade, akin to USDA Prime. He would get the Congressional medal of Honor asshole-equivalent.
2. There’s no fucking way this should result in prosecution. Enough with the restrictions on civil liberties, OK? The guy made a stupid video and it was a joke. It sat unnoticed for months. The Feds have no business getting pissy because some tight-ass can’t tell the difference between terrorism and stupid jokes.
3. If you see Vanderford on the street, punch him in the face and tell him “That’s from JimK. He says you’re like the Mozart of assholes.”

Given the state of major media in the US, I’m not at all surprised that they were duped. Give this guy an Oscar! (and a kick in the teeth)

I disagree that the guy is an asshole. He did it as an experiment and apparently it worked. He showed the media for the soul-less vultures they are.
