ROSE McGowan almost got herself arrested in Hollywood Tuesday night. The sultry “Charmed” star had gone to the T-Mobile party at Vanguard when “a man was standing uncomfortably close to her,” said a pal. “She told him to move, words were exchanged and it turned out he was a security guard for the club. He overreacted and put handcuffs on her.” The club realized what was going on, everything was explained and McGowan was set free, only to quip to her friends: “If you need to be handcuffed, do it in a Dolce & Gabbana dress!”
I have a Rose McGowan story. I used to work for her ex, Marilyn Manson. Before I worked for him, we were...phone buddies, I guess. One day I called his house and a woman answered. Now, if you’ve heard Rose speak, you know her voice is distinctive. I simply asked for Manson. She said “He’s outside, can I ask who is calling?”
“Jim. Just tell him it’s Stark.”
“What?”
“Stark.”
“Dark? As in dark of night?”
“Uhh...no. Stark. S, T, not D.” (Instantly my head went “Dark? Who the fuck calls your house that might be named Dark? What kind of people are you hanging out with///...Oh, wait, Marilyn Manson. Nevermind.” Of course I didn’t say any of that.)
“Oh. Fine. Hang on” (REALLY bitchy and dismissive)
She stuck her head out the window, yelled “MANSON, SOME GUY NAMED STARK ON THE PHONE” and walked away. Couple minutes later Manson comes on.
And that is my Rose McGowan story in all it’s mundane glory. Man oh man, did he trade up when he took up with Dita von Teese (link NOT SAFE FOR WORK). Dita is a sweetheart, even if she has pussified the God of Fuck.
Still...Rose is hot as hell though. Quite possibly the world’s worst actress, but so, so hot.

Actually, I think that Michelle Johnson would be slightly worse.

Rann - We watch that wretched show. Well, Donna puts it on and I usually start a game or something. It’s just terrible.
Malachi - Oh you ain’t seen a name dropper...I gots stories. I kind of stumble into celebrity situations every so often. Less and less these past few years, but still...I gots names to drop!

Yes. In many jurisdictions, a security guard has the same arrest powers as a local sheriff does. It depends a lot on the location.
However, even in those areas where they don’t have that authority, they can still restrain someone who is becoming violent or abusive, in order to protect themselves, the detainee, and others from possible injury, just as you can. (IOW, if you see someone walking down the street wildly swinging a machete, you have the authority to stop them, disarm and detain them in such a way that no one will get hurt.)
