GM CEO resigns at Obama’s behest

HOW THE FUCK DID WE GET HERE?

The Obama administration asked Rick Wagoner, the chairman and CEO of General Motors, to step down and he agreed, a White House official said.

On Monday, President Barack Obama is to unveil his plans for the auto industry, including a response to a request for additional funds by GM and Chrysler. The plan is based on recommendations from the Presidential Task Force on the Auto Industry, headed by the Treasury Department.

The White House confirmed Wagoner was leaving at the government’s behest after The Associated Press reported his immediate departure, without giving a reason.

The President of the United States of America is literally forcing a company to fire their CEO so they can get more bailout money instead of letting them fucking fail. HOW GOD-DAMN MANY LINES DOES THIS ONE ACT CROSS?  Buying union votes, tampering with private industry to such an astonishing degree, strong-arming, robbing taxpayers...the list goes on and on and on.

Jesus Christ.  I hardly know what to think anymore.  I can’t believe people are willing to accept this as normal and necessary and the way things should be happening.  You’d have to be some kind of dumbass to think this was a good idea.  Regardless of how incompetent Wagoner may be, it is NOT the President’s place to staff a company.  Fuck, it;s not the President’s place to bail them out over and over again.

This is ridiculous.  It’s beyond ridiculous.  It’s criminal, and we should not accept this as the new way of doing business in these United States.

schaudenfrade

Maybe it’s just petty, but I find the distinct lack of pre-and-just-post-election arrogance by Obamanauts lately to be kind of amusing.  Funny how the Emperor is never wearing any clothes no matter what sect of the Great Political Machine he is allied.  You kids with the (D) registrations getting the point yet?

It really is us vs. them, only the us is all of The People and the them is the political ruling class looking to treat us like Tijuana street hookers. Only without the whole ‘paying for it afterward’ part.

50% of the nation’s wealth gone

Is there a single rational, non-moonbat Democrat in the country left who can look at the economic news every day and still defend Obama’s policies?

I’d love to hear a reasoned explanation for destroying so much of the country’s wealth so quickly.  For concentrating on things that either aren’t broken or could wait while the financial system in this country collapses.

Conspiracy theorists say he’s doing it on purpose, that a total collapse is the only way to move toward a “fair” system where everyone gets their fair share of a communal pot.  Well, that imply isn’t the United States of America at all.  In fact it;s decidedly unconstitutional, but that doesn’t seem to matter to Obama’s administration any more than it mattered to Bush.  I don’t want to live in a partial, half or fully socialized country.  Do you?  Have you really thought about working as hard as you do right nwo and being forced, literally by threat of jail, to give up half - or more - of your earnings to pay for “the poor?”

Is this really what you voted for?  Was this the change you wanted?  How can you defend or justify this worse-than-Carter economic disaster?

BTW, if you’re a moonbat - and you damn well know if you are, or if I would consider you one - save your breath.  I’d like to hear from reasonable people that self-identify as Democrats.

Stimulus, spending and raising taxes during a severe recession: why would they do this?

This is why.

“It’s not about fixing the economy; it’s about proving Reagan wrong.” It’s about proving that an enlightened government is superior to a country led by tens of millions of individual sovereign decision makers.

Yep.  Doesn’t matter that we all know for a fact that it is not a sustainable form of government.  Common sense alone tells you what a disaster we have on our hands.  If you’ve ever decided what bill not to pay in a given month, or taken a cash advance off Visa to pay MasterCard, you know.  None of that matters.  They just want to try to prove Reagan (he’s representative of the movement, it’s not necessarily Reagan himself) wrong and train a new generation to expect Uncle Sam to deal with everything.

That’s the part Bob Krum missed.  This is also about training the next two or three generations to be dependent on the federal government. Hence the maneuvering to belittle and marginalize any state government that doesn’t want a federal bailout.  If no one expects the federal government to actually be small, there’s no reason to try to make it small, is there?

What sound does a trillion dollars make?

Listen for yourself:

Nice thud when 1100 pages hits the floor…

Obama lied, and if you voted for him, you should be outraged. From the website Obama set up:

End the Practice of Writing Legislation Behind Closed Doors: As president, Barack Obama will restore the American people’s trust in their government by making government more open and transparent. Obama will work to reform congressional rules to require all legislative sessions, including committee mark-ups and conference committees, to be conducted in public. By making these practices public, the American people will be able to hold their leaders accountable for wasteful spending and lawmakers won’t be able to slip favors for lobbyists into bills at the last minute.

Go ahead.  Defend it.  I dare you.  And for those Obama voters who won’t engage in politics online, that’s fine, I respect that, this shit can get ugly, but...just think about these two items. Watch that video then read what Obama promised and see if you can stay calm.  If you can...why?  Why aren’t you pissed off?  IT’S YOUR MONEY HE’S BURNING.  You should be sending email to your Senators and Representatives and calling the White House switchboard to register your disgust.  He lied to you.  He has a duty to you to keep at least one of the hundreds of promises he made.  Wouldn’t it be great if it was this one?

Game over, man.  Game over.

Jesus. Christ. On. A. Pogo Stick.

The stimulus package the U.S. Congress is completing would raise the government’s commitment to solving the financial crisis to $9.7 trillion, enough to pay off more than 90 percent of the nation’s home mortgages.

The Federal Reserve, Treasury Department and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation have lent or spent almost $3 trillion over the past two years and pledged up to $5.7 trillion more. The Senate is to vote this week on an economic-stimulus measure of at least $780 billion. It would need to be reconciled with an $819 billion plan the House approved last month.

...

The pledges, amounting to almost two-thirds of the value of everything produced in the U.S. last year, are intended to rescue the financial system after the credit markets seized up about 18 months ago.

I’m sorry can you repeat that bit about the two-thirds?

The pledges, amounting to almost two-thirds of the value of everything produced in the U.S. last year,

I’m sorry.  Sorry.  One more time. Does that say two thirds of everything we made all together in the entire nation in the last twelve months?

The pledges, amounting to almost two-thirds of the value of everything produced in the U.S. last year,

Holy crapsticks, Batman.  Is there one person out there reading this that can come up with a simple, honest justification for the government spending two-thirds of the entire god-damned production - of EVERYTHING - of the entire nation?  How...how is this even remotely a thing that we are doing?  On what planet does this make any sense to anyone who has ever balanced a checkbook?  How can you get out of three trillion in debt by borrowing twice again that amount?  If you were earning, sure some of that would be offset but if you are already flat-broke, it just means now you are NINE TRILLION MOTHER-FLIPPING DOLLARS IN DEBT ASFKJLKHASfjajsdajlkjhfa

Sweet mother of Christ.  I think they’ve finally broken me.  I don’t even know that I care anymore.  Apparently we’re determined to become wholly owned by the government in every waking moment of our lives.  We’re begging the government to decide everything we do all the time.  We are clamoring to be subjects.  People fought a revolution for so much less than this, and it shames me to think that they wasted their time and their lives.  After all, we’ve just turned around and we elected a ruling class and became their servants.  Big deal...so power is (mostly) not inherited.  And no one is called “king.” Practically speaking, we’ve gone the long way around to re-creating the same circumstances. Yay for American ingenuity!

I don’t see a way out of this anymore.  Let’s say that Republicans somehow find their god-damned consciences, give the social con nonsense a rest and start governing like fiscal conservatives and people who love freedom...and somehow, by an ever-loving miracle, they take Congress back in two years.

SO WHAT?!?!? This will already be over four years underway (counting the first bailouts).  We’re so beyond screwed we’re virginal again.  A Republican Congress will not stop these programs, nor will they terminate the bailouts.  And let’s take it further.  If, by an even more improbable miracle, a Republican who can string two sentences together, and is a fiscal conservative, and vows to protect liberty and freedom in ALL aspects of governance , and who swears to defend the actual Constitution, not the one they made up in their head...if such a Republican exists and somehow wins the Presidency in 2012...then what?  Six years into this nightmare.  The recession will deepen and widen and hover just on the border on a depression...but the government will keep throwing money down the hole to stave it off for as long as possible until…

What?

Total economic collapse, that’s what.

I suggest weapons training and a very large, almost comical stockpile of ammunition.  Your basic pump 12 gauge is cheap, easy to use, easily repaired and ammo is plentiful.  Plus it makes the cool “shick schickt” sound.

For the record…

If I see ONE SINGLE OBAMA VOTER ANYWHERE...I mean anywhere...complain about the economy in the next two years, I will punch you in the fucking face.

You voted for this shit.  When Bush went off the rails I owned up to my vote being partially responsible.  I took the shit.  Now you get to own your decision.  When he fucks your wallet like it was Jenna Jameson’s asshole, you do NOT GET TO COMPLAIN.  You did this.  So suck it up and deal.

Obama era expected to end taboo on gays in US military

Good.

Sixteen years after Bill Clinton tried to end restrictions on gays in the military, the US armed forces under Barack Obama may be forced to give homosexuals the same welcome as non-gays.

Under president Clinton, the policy that once saw homosexuals discharged from US military service evolved to “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” allowing gays to remain in the military so long as they did not reveal their sexual orientation.

Obama has pledged to overhaul current law.

“The key test for military service should be patriotism, a sense of duty, and a willingness to serve. Discrimination should be prohibited,” reads an entry on the president-elect’s transition website.

Going way back in the early days of this blog I talked about the anti-gay rules in the military, and especially how they hurt us tactically when the military started firing Arabic linguists left and right for being gay.  Beyond the rights issue, we have been irresponsibly stupid over the years by forcibly removing good and patriotic men and women from service just because they like grab-ass with people whose parts match their own.  Beyond the blogging, for my entire life I have been a proponent of full and equal...no, that’s not right either.  “Equal” rights for anything implies that there is a separation that deserves noting and I don’t believe that.  I have always believed in full recognition of the same rights gay people have that everyone else has.  I believe those rights to be inherent and obvious, and recognition that they are legally no different as human beings is the way things oughtta be, to steal a phrase.

Obama is god-damned frightening when it comes to economic policy.  He seems to be a bigger spender than anyone could or has ever imagined.  However, on this issue, I proudly state that my President would do me proud to eliminate this irresponsible and unconstitutional discrimination of good and decent (and useful) patriotic Americans.  Not only is it wrong, it’s actually harming our safety and security.  As a practical matter, we are making a huge mistake here.

Gay people should be able to proudly serve their country if they so choose, and we as a people should count ourselves lucky that we treat them so poorly and yet they still want to stand between us and the barbarians at the gate.  I’m not sure I would love my country that much if I were gay.  I’m not sure some of you would either.  If you are one of those who despise gay people, think about the ones that volunteer to get between you and a bad guy with a rifle.  If your very next thought isn’t “Thank you so much for being a better person than I am” then you clearly need to do some soul-searching.

Illinois Gov. Blagojevich arrested

Oh for fuck’s sake. And we just elected one of these Chicago Machine politicians as President?

The next four years are going to be a wake-up call to the Democrats the way the last four were (or should have been) to the Republicans.  There is something desperately wrong with both parties, something deep and something that may not be fixable.
